• • Patriot Software is looking for a seasoned Software Engineer III – Full Stack (Vue / .NET) who will own the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of features that power our award-winning accounting and payroll platform. You will work on products used by hundreds of thousands of small-business owners, accountants, and payroll administrators who rely on us every day to keep their companies compliant and profitable.
• • As a senior member of a fully-remote, cross-functional squad, you will architect scalable Vue front-end components and robust .NET Core APIs that handle millions of transactions with sub-second response times. From the first whiteboard sketch to the final production deploy, you will drive technical decisions, mentor mid-level engineers, and ensure our codebase remains clean, testable, and secure.
• • Your day-to-day will include writing idiomatic TypeScript in Vue 3, crafting performant C# micro-services, and optimizing SQL Server queries that aggregate payroll, tax, and banking data. You will participate in daily stand-ups, bi-weekly planning poker, and quarterly OKR reviews, always keeping the customer impact front and center.
• • You will champion automated testing—unit, integration, and end-to-end—pushing our coverage above 85 % while reducing build times through parallel pipelines in GitHub Actions. Expect to pair-program, conduct thorough code reviews, and evangelize best practices such as SOLID, DRY, and clean architecture across the engineering org.
• • Security and compliance are non-negotiable. You will implement OWASP top-10 mitigations, maintain SOC-2 controls, and collaborate with our infosec team to run quarterly penetration tests. Your code will encrypt PII at rest, enforce least-privilege IAM roles, and log every sensitive action for auditability.
• • Performance is equally critical. You will profile hot paths using Application Insights, introduce caching layers with Redis, and refactor synchronous workflows into asynchronous message queues on Azure Service Bus. Our target: <200 ms P95 latency for every customer-facing endpoint.
• • You will own the full DevOps lifecycle—spinning up ephemeral environments in Azure, defining infrastructure as code with Terraform, and rolling out blue-green deployments that achieve zero-downtime releases. When incidents occur, you will lead blameless post-mortems and codify the lessons into runbooks and automated alerts.
• • Collaboration extends beyond engineering. You will partner with Product Managers to break down epics into user stories, with UX Designers to translate Figma prototypes into accessible WCAG 2.1 interfaces, and with Customer Success to triage escalations and prioritize bug fixes that unblock payroll deadlines.
• • Continuous learning is baked into our culture. You will allocate 10 % of your sprint capacity to spikes, proof-of-concepts, and internal tech talks. Recent experiments include migrating portions of our monolith to .NET 8 minimal APIs, adopting Vue’s Composition API, and piloting OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing.
