  • • Build and own backend product capabilities for Stytch’s identity platform integrated within Twilio, shipping new API surfaces and core authentication flows including agentic and non-human identity use cases.
  • • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to set technical direction, translate customer needs into scalable product features, and deliver high-impact roadmap initiatives.
  • • Collaborate across Twilio and Stytch teams to align on architecture, integrate platform capabilities, and unblock cross-functional engineering initiatives.
  • • Operate with deep technical ownership: author design documents, drive key technical decisions, conduct code reviews, and maintain close involvement with systems you ship.
  • • Break down complex problems in ambiguous environments, make pragmatic tradeoffs, and design developer experiences that are intuitive, reliable, and delightful for customers.
  • • Improve production quality and system resilience through robust observability, proactive incident response, and effective remediation of production issues.
  • • Mentor and support other engineers through pairing, constructive feedback, and knowledge-sharing to elevate the team’s technical standards and engineering culture.
  • • Contribute to the evolution of Stytch’s platform to meet Twilio’s scale, ensuring secure, developer-first identity solutions for hundreds of thousands of businesses and millions of developers.
  • • Work in a high-ownership, startup-like environment within Twilio, balancing agility with enterprise-scale infrastructure and customer demands.
  • • Participate in on-call rotations that include weekend and holiday hours to ensure system reliability and rapid response to critical incidents.
  • • Occasionally travel for in-person team or project meetings to foster collaboration and relationship-building with customers and colleagues.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 6+ years experience in designing, building and operating high-scale, mission critical cloud based production systems.
  • • Familiarity with a production-grade code base in a modern programming language, applying best practice coding standards and writing high quality code.
  • • Extensive experience with RESTful API design and development.
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related industry experience.
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • • Ability to work non-standard, on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours.
