- • Lead and develop a distributed team of 8+ engineers focused on Identity Management, Payments & Billing, and Internal Admin Platform, spanning junior to senior-level talent
- • Drive engineering execution through sprint planning, technical prioritization, and delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams for core platform systems used by hundreds of thousands of global customers
- • Engage directly with a large-scale PHP monolith codebase through code reviews, architectural decision-making, and guiding incremental modernization while maintaining production reliability
- • Build and sustain a high-performance engineering culture using structured 1:1s, career development plans, and consistent feedback loops to grow individual contributors
- • Partner with product, design, and adjacent engineering leadership to align technical strategy with product roadmap priorities and business objectives
- • Develop and refine team processes that balance velocity, code quality, and operational stability at global scale
- • Own full-cycle hiring for your teams, including defining role requirements, evaluating technical and cultural fit, and planning headcount growth
- • Perform technical risk assessments and lead teams through complex system changes, including IAM/SCIM integrations, billing infrastructure upgrades, and account lifecycle automation
- • Maintain deep technical involvement in the core platform by reviewing code, proposing system improvements, and ensuring architectural consistency across services
- • Translate technical complexity into clear business context for stakeholders and translate business priorities into actionable engineering tasks for engineers
- • Ensure systems powering identity, authentication, and billing remain secure, scalable, and reliable under high-traffic conditions across 185 countries
- • Contribute to long-term technical vision for modernizing legacy systems without introducing downtime or degradation in customer experience
- • Advocate for operational excellence through proactive incident prevention, monitoring improvements, and documentation standards
- • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve blockers, reduce technical debt, and improve system observability across core platform services
- • Serve as a technical mentor and escalation point for engineers working on critical infrastructure components
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of hands-on PHP development experience, including fluency with large-scale monolithic applications
- • 3+ years of engineering management experience, with a track record of developing engineers and delivering complex projects
- • Strong working knowledge of MySQL, query optimization, and data modeling at scale
- • Experience with identity, authentication, or billing systems: IAM, OAuth, SSO, or subscription/payment platforms a strong plus
- • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams through architectural evolution without disrupting reliability
- • Comfortable operating in a high-ownership, low-process engineering culture where context matters more than ceremony
