- • As a Software Engineer on Lyft's Mapping team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the digital representation of the physical world that powers real-time routing and navigation for Lyft's rideshare platform, directly enabling safe, efficient, and delightful real-world interactions between passengers and drivers.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include driving high-impact mapping projects from concept to launch, leading backend and cross-functional initiatives, owning system components for both short-term functionality and long-term health, participating in code and architecture reviews, writing well-tested and maintainable code, and sharing knowledge through mentoring, tech talks, and engineering best practices.
- • You will join a collaborative Mapping organization at Lyft that works closely with product, data science, analytics, and operations teams to innovate mapping solutions that support Lyft’s mission of serving and connecting communities through inclusive, diverse, and open engineering practices.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in large-scale distributed systems, cloud platforms, and fault-tolerant architecture while gaining leadership experience in end-to-end feature delivery and system ownership, positioning you for growth into senior technical or architectural roles.
🎯 Requirements
- • BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or relevant work experience
- • 3+ years of software engineering or production infrastructure industry experience
- • Experience designing, debugging, and running fault-tolerant, highly available, large-scale distributed systems
- • Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure)
- • Experience working with databases, relational or NoSQL
- • Proficiency with Go and Python is a strong plus
