- • Own the end-to-end development of Developer & QA tooling that our global engineering teams rely on every day to ship high-quality code faster and safer. You’ll design, build and maintain CLI tools, test harnesses, CI pipelines, data seeders, mock services and dashboards that reduce friction and surface actionable insights.
- • Become the go-to expert for integrating Partly’s APIs and data models into third-party sales channels (eBay, Amazon, Shopify, OEM portals, dealership DMSs). You’ll write robust connectors, mapping layers and transformation pipelines that turn messy, inconsistent parts catalogues into clean, searchable listings at scale.
- • Collaborate daily with Product, Customer Success and Solutions Engineering to translate complex automotive requirements into elegant software. You’ll join sprint planning, run technical design sessions, review PRs and pair-program with teammates across NZ, AU, UK, US and SEA time-zones.
- • Dive deep into the gnarly world of auto parts—thousands of fitments, supersessions, interchange rules, regional regulations and pricing schemas—and build domain models that abstract away the chaos for both internal users and external developers.
- • Ship production-grade Rust and TypeScript services that process millions of parts per day with sub-second latency. You’ll instrument everything with metrics, traces and alerts so we know before our customers do when something breaks.
- • Champion best practices in testing, observability and developer experience. You’ll set up automated test suites, build staging environments that mirror production complexity, and write internal documentation that makes onboarding new engineers a breeze.
- • Contribute to our open-source initiatives and public API documentation, turning our tribal knowledge into reusable libraries and examples that grow the Partly ecosystem.
- • Iterate rapidly in a high-trust environment where every deploy is an opportunity to learn. We merge to main multiple times per day, use feature flags liberally, and run blameless post-mortems that turn incidents into systemic improvements.
- • Mentor junior engineers and interns through code reviews, lunch-and-learns and hack-days. We believe teaching is the fastest way to level up yourself and the team.
- • Play a key role in doubling our engineering headcount over the next 12 months by refining our interview process, writing take-home challenges and helping us spot exceptional talent across Southeast Asia.
🎯 Requirements
- • 1+ years of professional software development experience with proficiency in at least one systems language (Rust, Go, C++, Java) and comfort in TypeScript/JavaScript.
- • Solid grasp of relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL), including schema design, indexing, query optimisation and ACID transactions.
- • Strong computer-science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, concurrency patterns, distributed-systems concepts and architectural trade-offs.
- • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills—you can explain complex technical topics to both engineers and non-engineers and thrive in a remote-first, asynchronous culture.
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with Rust in production, prior exposure to automotive parts data standards (ACES, PIES, TecDoc), or familiarity with e-commerce marketplace APIs (eBay, Amazon MWS/SP-API).
