- • Design and implement multi-file coding tasks focused on bug resolution, feature implementation, refactoring, and test generation for AI training datasets.
- • Write clear, precise natural-language specifications that define coding problems and expected outcomes for AI model evaluation.
- • Develop and extend comprehensive unit and integration test suites using frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing.
- • Review peer-generated coding tasks for correctness, clarity, realism, and alignment with production engineering standards.
- • Identify edge cases, ambiguities, logical inconsistencies, and potential failure modes in both task specifications and submitted code solutions.
- • Ensure strict alignment between task specifications, reference implementations, and expected outputs across diverse software environments.
- • Navigate and analyze large, complex, multi-file codebases to evaluate code quality, architecture, and maintainability.
- • Perform code reviews of peer submissions, providing structured, actionable feedback on code quality, testing coverage, and adherence to best practices.
- • Refactor existing codebases to improve readability, performance, and scalability as part of task design and evaluation.
- • Migrate legacy code systems to modern architectures while preserving functionality and ensuring backward compatibility.
- • Work independently on a project-based, part-time consultant basis with full control over schedule and workflow.
- • Deliver high-quality, production-realistic software engineering tasks that simulate real-world developer challenges for AI training.
- • Generate complete reference implementations that serve as ground truth for AI model assessment.
- • Produce robust validation artifacts including test suites, documentation, and failure scenario analyses.
- • Maintain professional written proficiency in English to ensure clarity in all specifications, feedback, and documentation.
- • Collaborate asynchronously with a global team of engineers and AI researchers to improve the quality of AI training data.
- • Contribute to the development of evaluation benchmarks used by a leading AI lab to train and assess large language models.
- • Use own tools and infrastructure; no company-provided equipment or software is provided.
- • May simultaneously provide services to other vendors or employers, provided those arrangements do not conflict with project obligations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Advanced professional written proficiency in English
- • 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience
- • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; working knowledge of Java, C#, or Go
- • Backend or full-stack development experience in production systems
- • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, Go testing)
- • Proven ability to debug and navigate large, multi-file codebases
