- • As Software Engineering Director for Hardware Integration at Olix USA Inc., you will lead the strategic and technical execution of software-hardware integration for the company’s groundbreaking Optical Tensor Processing Unit (OTPU), a novel AI accelerator designed to overcome the limitations of legacy chip architectures. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between cutting-edge photonic hardware and robust software stacks, ensuring seamless functionality from pre-silicon simulation to post-silicon validation and long-term sustainment. Your leadership will directly enable OLIX to deliver a transformative technology that addresses the growing AI infrastructure deficit, positioning the company at the forefront of next-generation computing.
- • You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of hardware-software integration across the ASIC, BMC, and photonic interconnect fabric, translating long-term business goals into actionable engineering priorities while eliminating low-impact work. This includes setting the technical vision for firmware, BSP development, ASIC validation, and interconnect fabric bring-up, establishing architectural principles, quality standards, and review cadences that define technical excellence. You will lead pre-silicon activities like emulation and bring-up, oversee post-silicon validation, characterisation, and debug, and drive sustainment efforts focused on production reliability and field issue resolution, ensuring the OTPU meets the highest benchmarks for performance and dependability.
- • You will build and scale a high-performing engineering organisation by developing engineering managers who take ownership of customer outcomes, not just delivery metrics, and fostering teams that combine technical depth with strong leadership. Your role includes hiring senior talent, designing scalable team structures, and coaching engineers and managers to elevate their impact — not merely to meet targets, but to raise the organisation’s collective potential. You will cultivate a culture that balances innovation, speed, and engineering rigour, empowering teams to tackle the inherent uncertainties of developing a first-of-its-kind hardware platform with confidence and conviction.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in cutting-edge hardware-software co-design for emerging AI infrastructure, gaining unparalleled experience in photonic interconnects, ASIC/firmware integration, and BMC platform ownership within a novel computing paradigm. 🎯 Requirements
- • Proven senior engineering leadership with direct accountability for managing multi-team hardware-software integration programmes in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
- • Deep technical expertise in systems software, firmware, or hardware-software co-development, with hands-on experience in ASIC bring-up/validation, BMC/firmware platforms, or high-speed interconnect fabrics.
- • Demonstrated success in scaling engineering organisations, including hiring senior talent, developing managers into strong leaders, and designing team structures for high reliability and innovation.
