- • As a Software Engineering Manager at Anytime Mailbox, you will be at the forefront of innovation, leading a talented team of engineers to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge software solutions that power our global digital mail service. This is a pivotal role where you will blend technical expertise with strong leadership to drive product delivery, uphold exceptional quality standards, and cultivate a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our platform, ensuring we continue to provide a seamless and secure experience for our users worldwide.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to guide your team through the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to implementation, testing, and deployment. This involves meticulous project planning, resource allocation, and proactive risk management to ensure timely and successful delivery of features and products that align with our strategic business objectives. You will work closely with Product Management, Design, and other cross-functional teams to translate user needs and business requirements into robust, scalable, and maintainable software.
- • A significant aspect of your role will be fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. You will champion best practices in software engineering, including agile methodologies, test-driven development, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), and robust code review processes. Your leadership will inspire your team to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, ensuring the long-term health and scalability of our codebase.
- • People leadership is central to this position. You will be responsible for mentoring, coaching, and developing your engineers, helping them to grow their technical skills and advance their careers. This includes conducting regular one-on-one meetings, providing constructive feedback, identifying training opportunities, and fostering an environment where team members feel empowered, valued, and motivated to do their best work. You will also be responsible for performance management and ensuring the team operates cohesively and effectively.
- • You will play a crucial role in architectural decisions and technical strategy. While not necessarily hands-on coding daily, you will possess a deep understanding of software architecture, system design, and modern technology stacks. You will guide your team in making sound technical choices, ensuring our systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and performant. This includes evaluating new technologies, identifying opportunities for technical debt reduction, and ensuring our infrastructure can support our growing user base and evolving business needs.
- • Collaboration is key. You will work closely with product managers to understand the product roadmap and prioritize engineering efforts. You will partner with QA and DevOps teams to ensure smooth and efficient deployment pipelines and maintain high levels of system uptime and performance. You will also represent the engineering team in broader company discussions, communicating technical challenges, progress, and strategic initiatives effectively.
- • Driving innovation will be a core part of your mandate. You will encourage your team to explore new ideas, experiment with emerging technologies, and contribute to a culture where creative problem-solving is celebrated. You will help identify opportunities to leverage technology to enhance user experience, improve operational efficiency, and create new business value.

You will also be responsible for managing dependencies between different engineering teams and external stakeholders.
- • Ensuring the security and integrity of our platform is paramount. You will instill a security-first mindset within your team, ensuring that security considerations are integrated into every stage of the development process. This includes overseeing the implementation of security best practices, conducting security reviews, and responding effectively to any security incidents.
- • As a remote leader, you will be adept at fostering team cohesion and communication in a distributed environment. You will implement strategies to ensure all team members feel connected, engaged, and have the resources they need to succeed, regardless of their physical location. This includes leveraging collaboration tools effectively and promoting transparent communication channels.
- • Ultimately, your success will be measured by the team's ability to consistently deliver high-quality software on time, the growth and satisfaction of your engineers, and the overall technical health and scalability of the Anytime Mailbox platform. You will be a key contributor to our mission of revolutionizing how people manage their physical mail in the digital age.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in a software engineering leadership role, managing and mentoring software development teams.
- • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and best practices (CI/CD, TDD, code reviews).
- • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- • Technical background with a solid understanding of modern software architecture, system design, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- • Experience with remote team management and fostering a collaborative distributed work environment.
