• • Own the technical vision, roadmap, and execution for Found’s Risk Engineering group—an organization that protects 60 million self-employed Americans from fraud while preserving the delightful user experience that has made Found their trusted business bank.
• • Lead a high-leverage team that sits at the intersection of product, finance, operations, and data science. You will decide which signals to surface, which rules to automate, and which workflows to streamline so that legitimate entrepreneurs never feel friction while bad actors are stopped cold.
• • Hire, mentor, and retain world-class engineers across backend, data, and full-stack disciplines. From crafting crystal-clear onboarding plans to quarterly growth conversations, you will turn ambitious individuals into a cohesive, mission-driven unit that ships daily and learns even faster.
• • Dive deep into code, architecture, and incident reviews. Expect to spend roughly 30 % of your time pairing, white-boarding, and debugging alongside your engineers—modeling craftsmanship, operational rigor, and customer empathy.
• • Partner daily with Risk Operations and Customer Experience to translate policy changes into deterministic software, self-service tooling, and real-time dashboards. When a new fraud pattern emerges, you will lead the “detect, decide, deploy” cycle that keeps losses low and trust high.
• • Drive cross-functional planning with Product, Design, Finance, and Compliance to balance bold growth goals against regulatory and risk constraints. You will translate quarterly OKRs into sprint goals, head-count plans, and technical bets.
• • Champion a culture of psychological safety, experimentation, and continuous improvement. From blameless post-mortems to weekly “demo days,” you will ensure every engineer feels heard, challenged, and proud of the impact they create.
• • Instrument, monitor, and optimize systems that process millions of dollars in daily ACH, card, and check transactions. You will define SLAs, error budgets, and alerting strategies that let us move fast without ever putting customer funds at risk.
• • Evolve our risk frameworks into reusable libraries and services that accelerate every other product squad. Your team’s work on identity verification, transaction scoring, and case management will become the foundation on which the entire Found platform scales.
• • Represent Risk Engineering in company-wide technical forums, investor briefings, and external security audits. You will tell the story of how thoughtful engineering keeps Found—and the self-employed community we serve—safe, secure, and successful.
