- • As a Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer at FICO, you will be instrumental in shaping the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge analytic software solutions. This is a hands-on technical role where you will design, implement, and lead comprehensive test automation strategies for a diverse suite of applications and services, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, security, and functionality.
- • You will architect and execute sophisticated test automation strategies that span across various layers of our technology stack. This includes designing and implementing robust automation for REST/SOAP APIs, managing asynchronous workflows, and validating Kubernetes-native distributed systems. A key aspect of this role involves integrating automated quality gates directly into our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring that functional correctness, performance benchmarks, contract adherence, and security compliance are validated at every stage of the development lifecycle.
- • A significant part of your contribution will involve the design and execution of production-grade performance and resilience testing. You will conduct comprehensive load, stress, and soak tests for our cloud-native workloads. Leveraging advanced observability tools, you will meticulously analyze system metrics, identify performance bottlenecks, and validate failure modes across our distributed services to ensure system stability and scalability under various conditions.
- • Security and compliance are paramount. You will drive the validation of security controls across authentication mechanisms, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)/Access Control List (ACL) authorization models, API attack vectors, container security best practices, and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) protection. This will be done in strict accordance with relevant regulatory standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA. Your efforts will include integrating automated security checks seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines to proactively identify and mitigate security risks.
- • You will implement and champion consumer-driven contract testing and compatibility frameworks. These frameworks are crucial for preventing breaking changes in multi-service integrations and ensuring smooth, safe upgrades across our Java frameworks and Kubernetes infrastructure. This proactive approach minimizes integration issues and enhances overall system maintainability.
- • As a Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our quality engineering maturity. This involves mentoring development and QA teams on modern testing practices, advocating for risk-based testing methodologies to optimize testing efforts, promoting a culture of automation excellence, and driving continuous improvements in test effectiveness from the initial stages of development through to production deployment. Your leadership will directly influence the quality trajectory of our products.
- • You will collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand application requirements and translate them into effective test strategies and automation solutions. Your ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and concisely will be essential for driving consensus and ensuring alignment across teams.
- • This role offers the opportunity to work with a talented and dynamic team, utilizing the latest technologies and software development methodologies to build cutting-edge analytic software for high-profile customers across a wide variety of industries. You will be at the forefront of innovation in the big data analytics space, contributing to solutions that impact businesses worldwide.
