  • • PAR Technology Corporation is a distinguished leader in the restaurant technology sector, boasting over four decades of experience in empowering global brands to cultivate enduring relationships with their patrons. Our innovative suite of comprehensive software and hardware solutions is designed to foster seamless guest experiences and drive substantial growth for more than 100,000 restaurants across over 110 countries. At PAR, we live by our "Better Together" philosophy, offering integrated Unified Customer Experience solutions that encompass point-of-sale systems, digital ordering platforms, loyalty programs, and back-office software, complemented by industry-leading hardware and drive-thru technologies. We invite you to explore our offerings further at partech.com or connect with our dynamic team on LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram.
  • • As a Software Quality Engineer I, you will step into an early-career role with a significant opportunity to impact the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge retail and restaurant technology products. This position is pivotal in ensuring the excellence of solutions such as Point of Sale systems, Ordering Kiosks, and Drive Thru Ordering Systems. Your core responsibilities will revolve around rigorous testing and validation, encompassing functional integrity, performance benchmarks, and seamless integration across a diverse range of components. This includes meticulously examining software applications, embedded platforms, connectivity protocols, audio/voice functionalities (where applicable), and the critical end-user workflows that define the customer experience.
  • • You will be an integral part of a collaborative environment, working hand-in-hand with our talented software, firmware, systems, and product development teams. Your contributions will be essential in crafting and executing comprehensive test cases, meticulously derived from product requirements and user stories. A key aspect of your role will be to verify feature compliance against specifications, ensuring that our products not only meet but exceed expectations for overall reliability and performance. This validation will extend from controlled laboratory settings to the dynamic and often challenging real-world customer environments, providing you with invaluable hands-on experience.
  • • Your day-to-day activities will involve a deep dive into the testing lifecycle. You will be responsible for designing and executing detailed test cases, ensuring thorough coverage of product requirements, anticipated user workflows, and critical release objectives. This will include performing a variety of testing methodologies, such as functional testing to confirm features work as intended, regression testing to ensure new changes haven't introduced defects, and exploratory testing to uncover unexpected issues. You will validate end-to-end workflows, paying close attention to critical stages like initial setup and onboarding processes, the nuances of connectivity behaviors, the reliability of software updates, the clarity of alerts and indicators, and the various functional states of the device.
  • • Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in defect discovery and triage. This involves the proactive identification, detailed documentation, and diligent tracking of any defects encountered. Your ability to provide strong reproduction steps, capture relevant logs, and specify the exact environment where the issue occurred will be paramount in helping developers efficiently isolate root cause signals. You will collaborate closely with development teams, acting as a key partner in debugging efforts. Once fixes are implemented, you will be responsible for verifying their effectiveness and preventing regressions by conducting targeted retesting and expanding test coverage where necessary.
  • • Quality documentation is another cornerstone of this role. You will be tasked with maintaining clear and organized test evidence, ensuring traceability from original requirements through to test execution results. Your contributions will be vital in preparing comprehensive release readiness reports, clearly articulating what has been tested, what remains untested, and highlighting any known risks or gaps in coverage. This transparency is essential for informed decision-making regarding product releases.
  • • While this is an early-career role, there is an opportunity to support test automation efforts. You will assist in the development or maintenance of test scripts and lightweight automation solutions, with a primary focus on Python-based frameworks. Your efforts will contribute to improving the repeatability and efficiency of our testing processes through the implementation of robust tooling, standardized checklists, effective fixtures, and well-defined procedures.
  • • In the lab and systems support aspect of your role, you will contribute to setting up and maintaining test benches to ensure reliable and repeatable validation environments. This includes the critical task of capturing logs and diagnostics, which are essential for supporting issue reproduction and subsequent verification of fixes. This hands-on experience with lab equipment and diagnostic tools will be invaluable for your professional development.
  • • This position offers a unique chance to grow your skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment, contributing directly to the success of industry-leading restaurant technology solutions. You will gain exposure to a wide array of technologies and methodologies, laying a strong foundation for a successful career in quality engineering.
