Solutions Architect - SAP

📋 Description

• • Architect, maintain, and iterate on Zip’s core SAP (ECC and S/4HANA) and Ariba integration templates to ensure scalable, repeatable, and robust customer implementations.
• • Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) teams to align integration templates with core product architecture, field insights, and evolving customer needs.
• • Analyze complex customer implementations to identify reusable data mapping patterns and system-specific nuances, converting bespoke solutions into standardized internal assets.
• • Partner with account teams during pre-sales to design and vet integration architectures, ensuring prospective customers are set up for smooth, best-practice deployments.
• • Define, document, and champion technical solution consulting best practices to raise the technical bar and drive consistency across all customer implementations.
• • Leverage existing expertise in SAP, P2P, and MM/FI modules to build deep fluency across additional ERP ecosystems, becoming the ultimate subject matter expert on integration architecture, data models, and Zip’s App Studio.
• • Approach every technical challenge with an engineering mindset—designing and executing solutions thoroughly once so that future implementations happen effortlessly.
• • Balance high-level architectural design with hands-on involvement in API configurations and template modifications to ensure technical accuracy and reliability.
• • Translate highly technical integration requirements and constraints into clear, actionable guidance for audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
• • Work directly with API documentation, XML/REST endpoints, and standard authentication protocols to configure and troubleshoot integration workflows.
• • Test and troubleshoot integration errors across SAP and third-party systems, identifying root causes and implementing durable fixes.
• • Quickly understand and document customer requirements with minimal oversight, ensuring accurate alignment between customer needs and technical solutions.
• • Continuously seek opportunities to improve systems through systematic, process-driven enhancements and automation.
• • Stay adaptable and open to learning new technologies and integration platforms as Zip expands its ecosystem beyond SAP and Ariba.
• • Serve as a technical bridge between internal teams and external enterprise customers, ensuring seamless adoption of Zip’s procurement platform.
• • Build and maintain reusable integration assets that reduce implementation time, increase reliability, and scale across hundreds of future deployments.
• • Champion technical excellence by setting standards for documentation, testing, and deployment practices across the customer implementation organization.
• • Collaborate with product teams to influence roadmap priorities based on real-world integration challenges observed in customer environments.
• • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SAP integration methods including IDocs, BAPI/RFC, OData APIs, and SAP BTP/CPI.
• • Contribute to the development of internal training materials and knowledge bases to enable other technical consultants and engineers.
• • Ensure all integration solutions adhere to enterprise-grade security, compliance, and performance standards.
• • Act as a technical advocate for Zip’s platform within customer environments, earning trust through deep technical credibility and proactive problem-solving.
