Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Own the global sourcing strategy for batteries, solar PV panels, and inverters, from supplier identification and qualification through contract execution and delivery aligned with construction timelines.
- • Negotiate long-term supply agreements with tier-1 manufacturers for batteries, solar PV, and power electronics, securing volume pricing, payment terms, warranty provisions, and delivery SLAs.
- • Build and maintain should-cost models for batteries, solar PV, and inverters, tracking lithium, silicon, and copper commodity pricing to proactively adjust sourcing strategy ahead of market shifts.
- • Conduct supplier business reviews to enforce quality standards, financial health thresholds, and geopolitical risk criteria, ensuring dual-source coverage across all critical equipment categories.
- • Partner with Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Legal, and Sustainability teams to align procurement timelines with construction schedules and enforce consistent ESG supplier criteria.
- • Coordinate with logistics and customs teams to manage cross-border shipments, lead time buffers, and import compliance for suppliers located in China, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
- • Ensure supply chain remains off the critical path by enabling schedule compression through proactive risk mitigation, capacity planning, and supplier diversification.
- • Develop and implement the most accurate supply chain prediction models in the industry, using AI-driven forecasting to anticipate lead times, demand fluctuations, and supply disruptions.
- • Identify and qualify alternative suppliers to eliminate single-source dependencies and reduce exposure to geopolitical, financial, or logistical risks.
- • Maintain deep technical understanding of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), solar PV systems, and power electronics to challenge supplier specifications, validate cost models, and lead technical negotiations.
- • Track and manage Incoterms selection, customs documentation, and import compliance across international supply chains without compromising project schedules.
- • Leverage ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) to manage procurement workflows, supplier data, and contract lifecycle documentation.
- • Apply IEC and UL certification requirements to ensure all energy storage and solar equipment meets regulatory and safety standards for deployment in utility-scale and data center infrastructure.
- • Drive supply chain innovation to support FluidStack’s goal of deploying 10–100s of GWs of compute infrastructure faster than any competitor in history.
🎯 Requirements
- • Personally negotiated and closed large-scale supply agreements with tier-1 manufacturers for batteries, solar PV, or inverters, with demonstrable impact on commercial terms.
- • Deep technical understanding of BESS, solar PV systems, and power electronics sufficient to challenge supplier specs, validate cost models, and lead technical negotiations.
- • Proven experience managing global supply chains with suppliers in China, South Korea, or Southeast Asia, including Incoterms, cross-border logistics, and import compliance without schedule slippage.
- • Built should-cost models from scratch to drive supplier negotiations, not merely report costs after the fact.
- • Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks including financial instability, capacity constraints, geopolitical exposure, and single-source dependencies.
- • Bonus: Experience sourcing for data centers, utility-scale, or large-scale industrial infrastructure; familiarity with IEC and UL certification requirements; ERP fluency (SAP, Oracle); CIPS, CSCP, or equivalent procurement certification; engineering, supply chain, or business degree.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive total compensation package (salary + equity).
- • Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms.
- • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- • Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.
- • Base salary range of $220,000–$290,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
- • Equity in the form of stock options as part of total compensation.
