📋 Description

• Join NICE Ltd. in Pune, India, as a Specialist Performance Engineer, a pivotal role within the X-Sight Next Gen team. This team is at the forefront of developing the next generation of advanced cloud platforms designed to combat financial crime. As a key member of the PaaS/SaaS development group, you will be instrumental in enhancing business performance and boosting operational efficiency for our cutting-edge cloud-based solutions.
• In this role, you will dive deep into understanding detailed requirements, encompassing functional, non-functional, and usability aspects, to rigorously test our SaaS applications and backend services. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the scalability, responsiveness, and stability of our platform under diverse and demanding load conditions.
• You will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive functional and performance test scenarios. This involves creating detailed test cases that cover critical operational pathways and conducting exploratory testing to uncover potential bottlenecks and areas ripe for optimization.
• A significant part of your contribution will involve automating performance test cases. Leveraging tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner, you will build robust automation frameworks to facilitate efficient and repeatable regression testing, ensuring the continuous high quality of our releases.
• You will gain hands-on experience with and utilize performance monitoring and analytics tools like Prometheus and Grafana, or similar platforms, to gather and interpret performance test data. This data will be vital for identifying performance bottlenecks through detailed profiling, continuous monitoring, and in-depth analysis of system metrics.
• Developing performance benchmarks and conducting rigorous load, stress, and scalability tests will be a core responsibility. Your efforts will directly contribute to evaluating and improving the overall system performance, ensuring it meets and exceeds the expectations of our global clientele.
• The role also involves automating functional and performance tests across both API and UI layers, contributing to a more comprehensive and efficient testing strategy.
• Collaboration is key. You will work closely with a large group of engineers from various disciplines across the Engineering department, fostering a shared understanding and collective ownership of product quality.
• Proactively investigate performance issues, pinpoint their root causes, and clearly articulate findings to relevant stakeholders. You will also be the go-to person for responding to inquiries and requests regarding performance and availability from different teams within the organization.
• You will actively participate in shaping the testing strategy, defining the testing approach, and meticulous test planning, ensuring that performance considerations are integrated from the earliest stages of development.
• Contribute to product design discussions, offering insights to ensure the testability, robustness, and optimal performance of new products and features.
• Work in close partnership with Product Managers and Developers throughout the release cycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, performant software to production environments.
• Apply your strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex application and environmental issues, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum uptime.
• Embrace and contribute to the Agile spirit, methodology, and tools within multi-disciplinary Agile teams, fostering a dynamic and responsive development process.

🎯 Requirements

• 8-12 years of hands-on experience in performance engineering for enterprise-grade applications.
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., Apache JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, NeoLoad or similar).
• Deep understanding of profiling and tuning JVM-based applications (Java, Scala, Kotlin) or other modern runtime environments.
• Hands-on experience with database performance tuning (SQL query optimization, indexing, partitioning, caching, replication strategies).
• Expertise in analyzing CPU, memory, disk, and network performance in distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and memory management.
• Experience with cloud-based performance optimization in AWS and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of system design.
• Self-motivated and fast learner with a strong sense of ownership and drive.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; friendly disposition; work effectively as a team player.
