- • Provides integrated off-site support to patients, pharmacists, and providers by delivering a full-service approach to total quality patient care, focusing on medication adherence and specialty pharmacy services for hospital partner pharmacies.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include providing legendary care through custom medication management, handling prior authorizations, financial assistance, patient onboarding, refill/renewal support, and educating patients on hospital pharmacy services.
- • Works as an off-site member of the clinic team, collaborating with on-site clinicians, payors, and pharmacies to resolve insurance issues, secure financial aid, and document patient interactions in EMR, Therigy, and Shields proprietary tools.
- • Contributes to growing the specialty pharmacy patient population by adhering to Shields’ programs, identifying special medication handling needs, and participating in process improvement initiatives while maintaining strict confidentiality and data integrity.
- • Opportunity to develop expertise in specialty disease states such as transplant, hepatitis C, infectious disease (including HIV), diabetes, MS, and oncology, while enhancing skills in medication adherence, insurance adjudication, and patient advocacy within a mission-driven healthcare organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • State registration as a pharmacy technician (required)
- • 2-3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician (required); 3-5 years preferred
- • High School Diploma or GED (required)
- • National certification as CPhT or equivalent (strongly preferred)
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, with ability to quickly learn other programs
- • Experience or knowledge in specialty disease states such as transplant, hepatitis C, infectious disease (including HIV), diabetes, MS, or oncology (a plus)
