📋 Description

  • As a SQL Data Analyst II within Centene Corporation's Automation Analytics team, you will play a pivotal role in transforming healthcare for over 28 million members. Your primary mission will be to delve into integrated and extensive datasets, extracting valuable insights that directly influence critical business decisions and contribute to reducing the overall cost of care while simultaneously improving clinical outcomes for our members.
  • You will be instrumental in supporting the execution of large-scale projects, operating with a significant degree of autonomy and requiring limited direction from leadership. This involves a deep dive into complex data landscapes, identifying trends, and translating raw data into actionable strategies.
  • A key responsibility will be to identify and perform thorough root-cause analysis on data irregularities. This proactive approach ensures data integrity and accuracy, and you will be responsible for presenting your findings and proposing effective solutions to both leadership and our valued customers.
  • This role demands the ability to manage multiple, variable tasks and data review processes concurrently. You will need to work independently, adhering to targeted timelines and maintaining a high level of productivity with limited supervision.
  • You will actively support the design, testing, and implementation of process enhancements. A significant focus will be placed on identifying opportunities for automation within our analytical workflows, leveraging your technical skills to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the effective presentation of data will be crucial. You will need to look beyond the surface-level numbers to truly understand how our members and stakeholders interact with our analytic products, providing a holistic view of data utilization and impact.
  • You will be a key resource supporting multiple functions and levels across the organization. This requires the ability to effectively communicate your findings and insights, both verbally and visually, to a diverse audience, including non-technical business partners, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Independent engagement with customers and business partners is essential. You will be responsible for gathering requirements, understanding their needs, and validating the results of your analyses to ensure they align with business objectives and deliver tangible value.
  • You will be tasked with communicating and presenting data-driven insights and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders. This involves clearly articulating complex findings, soliciting feedback, and incorporating it to refine your analyses and recommendations, fostering a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • You will perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the broader team's success. This includes adhering to all company policies and standards, ensuring compliance and ethical conduct in all aspects of your work.
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Centene's mission of transforming the health of communities by leveraging data to drive meaningful improvements in healthcare delivery and member well-being. Your work will have a direct and measurable impact on the lives of millions.
  • You will work with diverse datasets, including but not limited to healthcare provider information, member/patient demographics and utilization, and third-party data sources, requiring a comprehensive understanding of healthcare data structures and nuances.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and analytical efficiency through the development and implementation of automated solutions and enhanced data processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical, and business operations, to understand their data needs and deliver tailored analytical solutions that address their specific challenges and strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data processes, analytical methodologies, and reporting standards to ensure consistency, reproducibility, and knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data analytics, SQL, and automation technologies to continuously enhance your skills and bring innovative solutions to Centene.
  • Contribute to a culture of data-driven decision-making by championing the use of analytics and providing training or guidance to less experienced team members as needed.
  • Ensure all analytical work complies with relevant regulations, privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA), and company policies, maintaining the highest standards of data security and confidentiality.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for executive-level presentations, enabling informed strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Design and execute A/B tests or other experimental designs to measure the impact of interventions or process changes, providing empirical evidence for decision-making.
  • Develop predictive models or forecasting tools to anticipate future trends, risks, or opportunities, enabling proactive management and strategic advantage.
  • Optimize SQL queries and database performance for efficiency and scalability, ensuring timely delivery of insights even with massive datasets.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a centralized data dictionary and metadata repository to improve data discoverability and understanding across the organization.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and project retrospectives to foster continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • You will be a key contributor to initiatives aimed at improving member engagement, optimizing provider networks, managing population health, and enhancing operational efficiency through data-driven insights.
  • The ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is paramount.
  • Your analytical rigor and problem-solving skills will be essential in navigating the complexities of the healthcare landscape and driving positive change.
  • You will be empowered to take ownership of your work, from data extraction and analysis to the presentation of findings and recommendations, making a tangible impact on Centene's mission.
