Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the future of live-event discovery for millions of fans worldwide. As a Senior Android Engineer on Ticketmaster’s Marketplace SDK team, you will architect, build, and evolve the Android SDK that powers ticket purchasing in 500+ partner apps—including many of the most-downloaded apps on Google Play. Every line of code you ship directly influences how fans discover, select, and secure seats for concerts, sports, and theatre events across the globe.
  • • Lead the full technical life-cycle of SDK features from ideation through design, implementation, testing, release, and post-launch optimization. You will translate product vision into scalable, performant, and backward-compatible APIs that third-party developers love to integrate and that delight end-users with buttery-smooth UI and rock-solid reliability.
  • • Champion modern Android development. You will drive adoption of Jetpack Compose for next-generation UI components, leverage Kotlin Coroutines, StateFlow, and SharedFlow for reactive data handling, and structure the codebase with Hilt/Dagger for dependency injection. Your architectural decisions (MVVM, MVI, or hybrid patterns) will set the standard for hundreds of external teams.
  • • Optimize for global scale. At Ticketmaster, “easy at low scale” can become “impossible at high scale.” You will profile, benchmark, and tune rendering, network, and memory performance so that the SDK remains snappy on flagship devices and resilient on low-end phones across North America, Europe, and APAC markets.
  • • Collaborate cross-functionally with iOS SDK engineers, backend services teams, product managers, and UX designers to ensure a cohesive, platform-consistent experience. You will participate in architecture reviews, RFCs, and design sprints, presenting trade-offs to stakeholders and negotiating realistic delivery timelines.
  • • Mentor and elevate the team. You will pair-program with junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish best practices for testing, CI/CD, and documentation. Your guidance will shorten onboarding time for new hires and raise the bar for code quality across the entire Android chapter.
  • • Innovate for the future. Whether it’s experimenting with React-Native interop, exploring on-device ML for personalized recommendations, or designing privacy-first analytics pipelines, you will prototype bold ideas and shepherd the most promising ones into production.
  • • Ensure bullet-proof reliability. You will own on-call rotation for the Android SDK, triage crash reports, and implement safeguards that uphold Ticketmaster’s brand promise: fans can always trust us to deliver their ticket when it matters most.
  • • Embrace a culture of continuous learning. Ticketmaster’s scale and global footprint expose you to new technologies, regulatory landscapes, and user behaviors. You will attend conferences, host internal tech talks, and contribute back to the Android open-source community.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5–6 years of professional software engineering with at least 4 years focused on native Android development in Kotlin or Java
  • • Deep, hands-on expertise with Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines, StateFlow/SharedFlow, and Hilt/Dagger
  • • Proven track record of shipping SDK or library code consumed by external developers, including versioning, backward compatibility, and performance optimization
  • • Demonstrated ability to own projects end-to-end—from initial idea through production deployment—and to mentor junior engineers along the way
  • • Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and tools such as JIRA; familiarity with iOS or React Native is a strong plus

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive base salary of CAD $120K–$150K plus annual performance bonus and equity in Live Nation Entertainment
  • • Remote-first culture with flexible hours and the option to work from anywhere in British Columbia; quarterly in-person team summits in Vancouver
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one, plus an annual wellness stipend and mental-health days
  • • Generous PTO (20+ days), paid volunteer time, and “Ticketmaster Tickets” program—free or discounted tickets to thousands of live events worldwide
