• • Sr Backend Engineer, LATAM - API (100% Remote) at Hopper Inc. is a critical role focused on developing and operating a public API that enables partners to build world-class travel portals, directly supporting Hopper’s B2B growth through Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS), which represents over 75% of the business.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, building, and operating the public API; working autonomously while aligning closely with engineers, designers, and product managers; exploring engineering improvements; and collaborating cross-functionally with product, internal Hopper teams, and external partner teams in a low-meeting, async-first environment.
• • The role sits within Hopper’s Technology Solutions group, a high-impact team of exceptional engineers, designers, and product managers dedicated to scaling joint business with partners like Capital One, Nubank, Air Canada, and others through fintech-integrated travel platforms.
• • The engineer will gain deep experience in public API design and operation, distributed systems in Scala on GCP, and fintech-driven travel ecommerce — contributing to a platform serving hundreds of millions of travelers and processing billions in annual travel volume while advancing technical ownership and product thinking.
