• • Sr Backend Engineer, LATAM - API (100% Remote) at Hopper Inc. is a critical role focused on designing, building, and operating a public API that enables partners to create world-class travel portals, directly supporting Hopper’s B2B growth through Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS), which represents over 75% of the business.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and building the public API, operating it autonomously while collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and product managers, exploring engineering improvements, and cross-functionally coordinating with internal and external partner teams in a low-meeting, asynchronous environment.
• • The role sits within Hopper’s Technology Solutions group, a high-impact team of exceptional engineers, designers, and product managers dedicated to scaling partner integrations and delivering best-in-class support for joint business growth.
• • The engineer will gain deep experience in distributed systems using Scala and GCP, sharpen product thinking by anchoring quality in customer outcomes, and develop ownership over end-to-end API lifecycle — from design to documentation and operation — while contributing to a fast-moving, entrepreneurial culture with massive impact despite small team size.
