- • Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure powering n8n Cloud to ensure high availability, performance, and developer efficiency at scale.
- • Scale infrastructure to support millions of users, pushing boundaries on system capacity and reliability.
- • Drive observability, monitoring, and alerting systems to reduce operational toil and improve system transparency.
- • Enhance security posture and observability across the cloud platform through automation and intelligent tooling.
- • Contribute to on-call rotation to maintain system health, respond to incidents, and resolve critical bugs.
- • Own and evolve KTLO (keep-the-lights-on) tasks including performance optimization, reliability improvements, and critical infrastructure fixes.
- • Collaborate closely with Cloud team engineers, product engineers, product managers, Support, Customer Success, and Sales teams on cross-functional initiatives.
- • Play a key role in strategic technical decisions regarding architecture, tooling, and platform evolution.
- • Build and maintain applications using Node.js as part of infrastructure and automation tooling.
- • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and release processes.
- • Utilize Kubernetes for container orchestration and Terraform for infrastructure-as-code provisioning.
- • Work with one or more major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to deploy and manage scalable cloud resources.
- • Apply TypeScript or JavaScript to develop automation scripts, internal tools, and infrastructure components.
- • Embrace a growth mindset with a willingness to learn and solve problems even when lacking prior experience.
- • Support a remote-first team across Europe and the US, collaborating asynchronously and synchronously as needed.
- • Participate in hackathons and innovation cycles to explore new tools, workflows, and automation possibilities.
- • Utilize an unlimited AI budget to enhance productivity and creativity in daily engineering tasks.
- • Allocate $100 per month to support open-source projects aligned with personal or team interests.
- • Maintain transparency in company goals, progress, and technical decisions across all teams.
- • Work in a high-trust environment with significant autonomy over tools, processes, and technical direction.
🎯 Requirements
- • Solid infrastructure/cloud/DevOps engineering experience and scaling a complex platform to many users
- • Application development with Node.js
- • Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines and build processes
- • Experience with observability, monitoring, and performance tuning
- • Proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, one or more major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP), and TypeScript or JavaScript
- • Growth mindset: “don’t know but will find out” attitude
