📋 Description

• • Design and implement self-service infrastructure tools that enable product teams to deploy services without manual provisioning or infrastructure tickets, using AWS and Kubernetes in a multi-tenant production environment.
• • Eliminate operational toil by identifying repetitive manual tasks and building automation with Go, Python, or similar languages to reduce human intervention across the platform.
• • Establish and maintain comprehensive observability systems using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or equivalent tools to monitor system health, create actionable alerts, and enable rapid debugging of production issues at any time.
• • Participate in a weekly on-call rotation to respond to infrastructure incidents, reduce recurrence through systemic improvements, and write detailed postmortems that lead to lasting architectural enhancements.
• • Plan and execute infrastructure scaling initiatives to handle growing traffic, optimize resource utilization, reduce deployment times, and maintain sub-100ms p99 latencies across distributed systems.
• • Architect and manage resilient, multi-AZ AWS environments using EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC networking, and IAM policies with a focus on high availability, fault tolerance, and least-privilege security principles.
• • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation daily, avoiding clickops and enforcing code-based, version-controlled infrastructure management.
• • Collaborate with security, product engineering, and SRE teams to understand platform needs and co-design solutions that align with organizational goals while maintaining security and operational integrity.
• • Ensure all systems are designed with security as a default—encrypting data at rest and in transit, enforcing role-based access controls, and actively modeling potential threat vectors.
• • Contribute to a remote-first, async-first culture by participating in design reviews, pair programming, internal tech talks, and documentation efforts that promote knowledge sharing and collective ownership.
• • Support compliance requirements through the implementation of policy-as-code tools like Kyverno and adherence to frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001, where applicable.
• • Leverage GitOps practices using FluxCD and Kustomize to automate deployment workflows and maintain declarative, auditable infrastructure state across environments.
• • Actively seek opportunities to apply AI and machine learning to improve infrastructure efficiency, incident prediction, and system automation, aligning with company-wide commitments to innovation in AI usage.
• • Engage in annual team meetups and department-wide offsites to foster in-person collaboration and connection, as travel is a required component of the remote-first role.
• • Optimize cloud costs through monitoring, right-sizing resources, and identifying underutilized infrastructure, ensuring financial efficiency without sacrificing performance or reliability.
• • Drive continuous improvement in platform resilience by implementing automation patterns that prevent failures before users are impacted and reduce dependency on reactive responses.
