- • Take full ownership of complex, high-exposure first-party property claims from first notice of loss through final resolution, including represented files with exposures up to $100,000.
- • Investigate claims using multiple methods: conducting recorded statements, consulting with police and fire departments, inspecting property damage, and reviewing documentation to determine coverage and liability.
- • Interpret insured policies, forms in force, and state-specific insurance codes to accurately assess company liability and issue clear coverage decisions.
- • Draft, approve, and adjust damage and loss estimates using Xactimate and Xactanalysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- • Negotiate settlements with attorneys and public adjusters to achieve fair, equitable outcomes while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- • Write clear, concise diary notes, manage vendor relationships, coordinate field assignments, and issue payments in alignment with company protocols.
- • Prepare and issue complex reservation of rights letters, coverage denial letters, and release letters with legal and regulatory precision.
- • Identify potential fraud indicators and recognize subrogation opportunities within claim files to protect company interests.
- • Maintain compliance with insurance laws, good faith practices, and regulatory timelines across multiple states.
- • Serve as a mentor and resource to less experienced claims adjusters, promoting consistency in claims handling and professional development.
- • Remain available for required overtime and weekend shifts during catastrophic events to ensure timely claim resolution.
- • Deliver exceptional customer service by guiding policyholders through stressful situations with empathy, professionalism, and clear communication.
- • Utilize CRM systems, Snapsheet, Slack, and Excel to manage workflows, track communications, and maintain organized claim files.
- • Ensure all claim files are well-documented, with sound reasoning for coverage determinations, denials, and settlement offers.
- • Contribute to operational improvements by applying insights and feedback to enhance claims processes and customer outcomes.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of first-party property claims adjusting experience directly with an insurance carrier
- • Hands-on experience managing attorney- and public adjuster-represented claims
- • Proven proficiency in Xactimate and Xactanalysis for damage estimation and analysis
- • Demonstrated ability to draft reservation of rights letters, coverage denial letters, and release letters
- • Working knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and good faith practices across multiple states
- • Ability to conduct thorough recorded statements and identify fraud indicators or subrogation opportunities
