- • As a Sr. Director Analyst specializing in Enterprise Cost and Labor Market Analysis at Gartner, you will step into a pivotal individual contributor role, operating remotely within North America. You will be at the forefront of creating essential insights, market predictions, and best practices that empower leading organizations worldwide. This position places you as a thought leader within Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group, where your research and analytical prowess will be instrumental in producing pragmatic and provocative insights that clients leverage to achieve their most critical business objectives.
- • Your role will involve serving as a trusted advisor to clients, consistently reinforcing Gartner's value by engaging them through various channels, including in-person meetings, virtual interactions, sales support visits, and Gartner conferences. You will delve into complex client challenges, offering expert recommendations and guidance.
- • The core of your expertise will lie in enterprise cost management, empirical IO, econometric and statistical modeling, and labor market analysis. You will be adept at analyzing data related to macroeconomics, enterprise and labor costs, and emerging labor market trends. A key responsibility will be to represent the broader body of Gartner research and to conduct and publish original research on topics directly relevant to Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs).
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass analyzing and identifying evolving enterprise cost and labor market conditions, understanding talent trends, and directing data gathering initiatives to accurately measure their impact. You will skillfully integrate proprietary and publicly available datasets to uncover novel insights and formulate compelling, actionable written guidance tailored for CHROs.
- • A significant aspect of the role involves providing high-quality, timely peer reviews for research content developed by fellow Gartner team members, ensuring the consistent excellence of our published work. You will establish and champion thought leadership positions regarding enterprise labor/talent costs and labor market dynamics.
- • Client engagement is paramount. You will interact with clients and prospects, both virtually and face-to-face, to deliver actionable advice on critical questions pertaining to talent analytics and labor modeling. This includes creating and delivering impactful presentation materials for Gartner events, client briefings, and industry conferences.
- • You will actively contribute to innovation, ideation, and research discussions, fostering effective collaboration with your peers across the global research community. Furthermore, you will serve as a mentor and coach, supporting the development of more junior team members as needed.
- • The role demands the creation of innovative, thought-provoking, and highly leveraged content that becomes indispensable to our clients. You will be expected to develop new insights and ideas through your thought leadership, offering compelling and actionable approaches to address client needs and requests, thereby accelerating their ability to implement solutions.
- • You will conduct in-depth analyses to pinpoint the root causes of client barriers or overarching needs, reframing challenges to drive strategic progress. Your contributions will extend to demonstrating thought leadership in establishing research positions across a team of analysts and bringing provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders that can shape the future direction of our research agenda.
- • You will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and predicting market trends and shifts to provide clients and vendors with actionable intelligence. This involves delivering high-value presentation materials both on and off stage at Gartner events, industry conferences, and client briefings.
- • Supporting the Business and Technology Insights (BTI) and Sales teams is crucial. You will act as the voice of the market, assisting Insights teams in content creation and driving client engagement to help clients achieve their critical priorities and grow their businesses.
- • You will build and maintain credibility as an industry expert, effectively representing Gartner's insights, methodology, and strategic direction. Identifying and implementing research process improvements or developing new processes to enhance team and BTI service delivery will be key. A client-centric approach is essential, actively encouraging regular and frequent client engagement with Gartner insights and interactions.
- • This role requires a Bachelor's degree with over 12 years of relevant field or industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in econometric and statistical modeling, including the ability to collaborate with a quantitative analytics team to test hypotheses, is essential. You must possess superior analytical skills, with the capacity to apply conceptual models, recognize patterns, and draw and defend conclusions. Demonstrated experience in analyzing data to inform CHROs and their teams on actionable strategies is required, alongside strong knowledge of publicly available datasets for assessing hiring and labor markets.
- • Comfort and experience advising and working with senior leaders, coupled with strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and presentation skills, are necessary to effectively engage clients and respond to inquiries. The ability to work independently while being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams in a multicultural global environment is vital. You will need demonstrated executive presence to establish immediate credibility with C-level executives and other stakeholders. Strong organizational skills are required to manage tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables. A solid foundation in business and financial acumen, along with agility in learning and navigating highly matrixed environments, is expected. The capacity to adjust communication styles for diverse audiences and a willingness to travel up to 25% are also important.
- • A graduate degree in economics, business, social sciences, or statistics is preferred.
