  • • Analyze global business and technology trends in the Operational Technology (OT) and IT/OT convergence space, delivering actionable insights to CIOs, AI leaders, and senior operational management in asset-intensive industries such as energy, utilities, manufacturing, and mining.
  • • Produce authoritative research publications including Best Practice Insights, Market Analyses, Trend and Survey Analyses, Forecasts/Predictions, and Case Studies focused on OT solutions, SCADA, Historians, IIoT, and AI-driven autonomous operations.
  • • Provide strategic guidance to clients on the deployment, management, and optimization of operational technology systems, including risk assessment and maturity evaluation of emerging OT technologies.
  • • Advise clients on vendor positioning, product offerings, and architectural patterns for digitalization and AI adoption in mission-critical industrial environments.
  • • Deliver thought leadership on the intersection of AI and OT, including Secure Autonomous Operations, OT in the Cloud, and OT management frameworks.
  • • Represent Gartner at industry conferences, client briefings, and Gartner events through high-impact presentations and speaking engagements.
  • • Support sales teams by serving as the voice of the market during client engagements, sales support visits, and conference interactions to drive client retention and business growth.
  • • Collaborate across Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights teams to develop integrated research agendas and ensure alignment with global market dynamics.
  • • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client challenges, reframe strategic thinking, and propose provocative, actionable approaches to accelerate client decision-making.
  • • Review and provide high-quality peer feedback on research content to maintain Gartner’s standards for objectivity, depth, and clarity.
  • • Build and maintain credibility as a trusted industry expert by consistently demonstrating mastery of OT markets, competitive landscapes, and evolving technology trends.
  • • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team development through coaching, knowledge sharing, and collaborative research.
  • • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance research efficiency, content quality, and service delivery across the BTI division.
  • • Engage clients regularly through virtual and in-person interactions to ensure ongoing alignment with their strategic priorities and reinforce Gartner’s value proposition.
  • • Maintain deep awareness of global competitive dynamics within OT and related IT markets, including vendor ecosystems, market directions, and solution maturity levels.
  • • Translate complex technical and operational concepts into clear, concise, and compelling insights accessible to executive-level audiences.
  • • Travel up to 25% to attend client meetings, industry events, and Gartner conferences as required.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 12+ years of relevant industry experience in Operational Technology (OT) or IT/OT convergence within asset-intensive sectors (e.g., energy, utilities, manufacturing, mining)
  • • Senior management experience (e.g., CIO, CTO, CEO, COO, GM, Managing Partner) in an asset-intensive industry or technology vendor organization
  • • Demonstrated expertise in software architecture patterns as applied to energy, utility, or industrial operations
  • • Proven ability to engage with C-suite and senior operational executives and deliver strategic advice
  • • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills with a track record of producing high-quality, publishable insights
  • • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex topics clearly to diverse audiences
