  • • As a Senior Engineering Excellence Manager at Deckers Brands, you will serve as a transformation partner and senior individual contributor, driving technology delivery, engineering rigor, and operational excellence across the organization. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Engineering Excellence & Quality to support large-scale transformation initiatives, mentor delivery leaders, and establish standards, metrics, and operating models that enable predictable, high-quality delivery at scale. Your role is pivotal in shaping how engineering teams deliver value, especially during complex initiatives like cloud migration and modernization, by championing quality, reliability, and automation-first practices without direct authority over technical execution.
  • • Day to day, you will drive transformative change by enabling and supporting engineering initiatives that shape the future of Deckers Brands, including cloud migration and modernization efforts. You will set the standard for excellence by establishing and evolving engineering frameworks that empower teams to deliver with confidence, consistency, and innovation. You will turn data into action by defining and governing KPIs that unlock insights, fuel continuous improvement, and elevate delivery performance across the organization. You will inspire and mentor delivery managers, helping them grow their capabilities and lead with clarity, discipline, and purpose—especially in complex, high-impact projects. You will lead special projects that advance engineering excellence, championing automation and AI practices to keep Deckers Brands at the forefront of technology and operational success. You will work closely with engineering, architecture, operations, and quality teams to identify structural issues across people, process, and technology, using systems thinking to improve delivery predictability and execution discipline.
  • • The Engineering Excellence team at Deckers Brands operates within a culture that values authenticity, inclusion, and equity, where employees are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work. As part of a company committed to delivering exceptional business results while fostering an amazing place to work and creating a positive impact on communities and the world, you will contribute to a mission where 'Together, Every Step' reflects a shared commitment to integrity, innovation, and responsibility. The team thrives on collaboration, continuous learning, and raising the bar for how technology is delivered across global brands.
  • • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in organizational transformation, delivery performance optimization, and engineering maturity modeling. You will refine your ability to influence without authority, coach senior leaders, and translate complex data into actionable strategies that drive measurable improvement. You will gain experience in scaling Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices across large, distributed teams, and become a trusted advisor in shaping the future of technology delivery at a major consumer brand. This role offers the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy by embedding engineering excellence into the fabric of how Deckers Brands builds and delivers technology.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • • Significant experience in technology delivery, transformation, or operational excellence roles
  • • Proven track record supporting or leading large, complex initiatives (cloud migration, platform modernization, delivery framework adoption)
  • • Experience coaching or enabling delivery managers, program leads, or cross-functional teams, especially in lower-maturity or high-ambiguity environments
  • • Demonstrated success improving delivery predictability, execution discipline, and continuous improvement outcomes
  • • Experience working closely with engineering, architecture, operations, and quality teams without owning direct technical delivery
  • • Strong delivery and systems thinking, with the ability to identify structural issues across people, process, and technology
  • • Deep understanding of modern delivery practices (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, continuous improvement, flow metrics)
  • • Ability to establish and operationalize delivery and engineering KPIs and translate data into actionable insights
  • • Effective coach and influencer, able to raise execution maturity without formal authority
  • • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and bringing clarity, structure, and momentum
