📋 Description

• MeridianLink is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence to join our dynamic and expanding team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our products by developing cutting-edge AI-powered experiences that empower our users to achieve their best work. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, contributing to the entire lifecycle of AI-integrated features, from conceptualization to deployment and ongoing enhancement.
• Your primary responsibility will involve working on sophisticated AI-powered services that are leveraged across multiple product lines. This includes the development of robust backend APIs that serve as the foundation for these intelligent features, as well as intuitive and seamless frontend interfaces that provide users with direct access to these capabilities. You will be at the forefront of integrating advanced AI/ML technologies into our core offerings, ensuring they are both powerful and user-friendly.
• As a Senior Engineer, you will play a crucial role in mentoring junior engineers, sharing your expertise, and fostering a culture of technical excellence. You will serve as an informal technical lead, particularly in guiding best practices for AI/ML integration, ensuring that our implementations are efficient, scalable, and secure. Your guidance will be invaluable in helping the team navigate the complexities of AI development.
• A significant aspect of your role will be to create and implement rigorous processes and procedures that uphold the technical quality, security, performance, and consistency of our AI-powered products. This includes establishing standards for code quality, testing methodologies, and deployment strategies specifically tailored for AI applications.
• You will be responsible for conceptualizing and defining "big picture" architectural approaches for AI-integrated software. This involves designing scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems that can accommodate future growth and evolving AI capabilities. You will translate these high-level architectural visions into actionable implementation plans, guiding the development teams through the execution phase.
• Ensuring the security, performance, and overall quality of our software architectures will be paramount. You will provide critical technical guidance to development teams, helping them to overcome challenges and adhere to best practices. This includes proactively identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure the robustness of our AI platforms.
• You will drive end-to-end system design decisions for our scalable enterprise-grade AI platforms. This requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and AI/ML model deployment. You will collaborate closely with the Product Management team to translate evolving requirements into well-architected and technically sound solutions that align with business objectives.
• A key part of your role will involve conducting thorough research, gathering relevant information, interpreting complex data, and identifying specific requirements for our AI-driven products. This analytical approach will enable you to create innovative solutions that address user needs and unlock new possibilities through AI.
• Staying current with the rapidly evolving landscape of AI/ML technologies, modern development tooling, and emerging best practices is essential. You will be expected to continuously learn and adapt, implementing the latest security best practices throughout the entire AI development lifecycle to safeguard our systems and data.
• You will leverage your expertise to assess unusual circumstances and apply sophisticated analytical and problem-solving techniques to pinpoint the root causes of issues, especially those related to complex AI integrations. Your ability to think critically and creatively will be vital in resolving a wide range of AI-related challenges.
• You will be adept at devising AI-powered solutions even when faced with limited information or precedent, and you will skillfully adapt existing approaches to resolve intricate technical issues, pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
• Your strong foundation in RESTful API development using Python, coupled with modern frontend development skills in React and TypeScript, will enable you to build comprehensive and high-performing applications. Experience with Vite will further enhance your ability to deliver efficient frontend solutions.
• A solid understanding of cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and practical experience deploying full-stack AI applications are crucial for success in this role. You will be responsible for ensuring our AI solutions are effectively deployed and managed in the cloud.
• Proficiency with modern development tooling across the entire technology stack, including AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude, will streamline your workflow and enhance productivity.
• You will demonstrate a proven track record of successfully taking AI-powered features from high-level product concepts all the way through to production deployment, showcasing your ability to manage the entire development lifecycle.
• The ability to enhance relationships and build strong networks with senior internal and external partners, many of whom may not be deeply familiar with AI/ML subject matter, will be key. This often requires effective persuasion and the clear communication of technical expertise.
• You will possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 6-8 years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, with a demonstrated history of success in full-stack development and AI integration.

• Ability to assess unusual circumstances and use sophisticated analytical and problem-solving techniques to identify the cause, particularly with AI integrations.
• Experience with modern development tooling across the stack and proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc.).
