📋 Description

• As a Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer on Mitek’s Trust Platform team in Spain, you will play a critical role in building and enhancing a cutting-edge identity authentication and fraud prevention platform that powers secure digital experiences for over 7,500 global organizations, directly contributing to the security and trust of financial and identity transactions worldwide.
• You will design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance full-stack applications using modern web technologies, focusing on the Trust Platform solution that integrates identity verification, transaction monitoring, and AI-driven fraud detection to deliver real-time risk insights while optimizing user experience across the customer journey.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, testable, and maintainable code in both frontend (React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3) and backend (Node.js, Python, or Java) environments, implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs, and ensuring seamless integration with microservices deployed in cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• You will collaborate closely with product, data science, and UX teams to translate complex fraud detection algorithms and identity verification logic into intuitive user interfaces and robust backend services, participating in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and sprint planning to drive continuous delivery of platform enhancements.
• You will contribute to the architectural evolution of the Trust Platform by identifying technical debt, proposing improvements to system scalability and observability, and implementing best practices in CI/CD, automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end), and security hardening to support high-throughput, low-latency transaction processing.
• You will mentor junior engineers, share knowledge through tech talks and documentation, and help foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and psychological safety within the Spain-based engineering team, aligning with Mitek’s Virtual First philosophy and global collaboration model.

• You will have the opportunity to lead technical initiatives, influence product direction through engineering insights, and grow into broader leadership roles such as Tech Lead or Architect, all while working on products that protect millions of identities and transactions daily across Europe, LATAM, and North America.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer with proven expertise in modern frontend (React, TypeScript) and backend (Node.js, Python, or Java) technologies
• Strong experience designing and implementing scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs, microservices architectures, and cloud-native applications (AWS or Azure preferred)
• Proficiency in automated testing strategies (unit, integration, e2e) and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
• Familiarity with identity verification, fraud detection, or financial services domains is a strong plus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed, multicultural team environment
