- • As a Senior Manager of AI & Machine Learning at Zapier, you will lead a high-impact team responsible for shaping the company’s AI/ML strategy, driving the development and deployment of scalable models and platforms, and enabling product teams across the organization to leverage AI effectively—balancing innovation with reliability, safety, and business value.
- • You will lead and manage teams of AI & ML Engineers to deliver end-to-end machine learning initiatives, from ideation and model development to deployment, monitoring, and iteration, ensuring alignment with company goals and measurable business outcomes.
- • You will own and evolve Zapier’s AI/ML strategy, continuously refining direction based on stakeholder feedback, performance metrics, and emerging technologies to ensure models, tooling, and platforms are reliable, cost-effective, and scalable.
- • You will coach and mentor engineers and managers on technical excellence, stakeholder communication, and soft skills, fostering a culture of innovation, experimentation, and pragmatic delivery while guiding career growth and professional development.
- • You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional leaders to identify high-leverage AI/ML opportunities, translate them into actionable roadmaps, and enable teams through shared platforms, tools, and best practices in MLOps, LLMOps, and CI/CD.
- • You will establish and maintain predictable operating rhythms—including regular prioritization, roadmap alignment, quality gates, and launch criteria—to ensure consistent delivery of near-term wins and long-term platform leverage through reuse and enablement.
- • You will communicate AI/ML strategy, trade-offs, and results with clarity to technical and non-technical stakeholders, accelerating decision-making and making progress visible across the organization.
- • You will uphold Zapier’s commitment to responsible AI use, ensuring safety, reliability, and ethical considerations are embedded in all AI/ML initiatives, while advocating for action-oriented solutions that iterate and improve over time.
- • You will operate at a portfolio level, proactively identifying opportunities for AI/ML to drive business value, not just reacting to problems, and building the alignment and mechanisms needed to scale impact across the organization.
- • You will contribute to Zapier’s remote-first, inclusive culture by modeling empathy, transparency, and equity in leadership, supporting diverse perspectives and experiences within your team and across the company.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of experience in Machine Learning and AI with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering high-impact, end-to-end ML solutions from ideation to deployment and monitoring.
- • Demonstrated success in leading technical teams (engineers and managers) through ambiguity, setting clear goals, and driving outcomes aligned with business objectives.
- • Deep technical expertise in ML/AI frameworks, model development, evaluation, data pipeline optimization, deployment strategies, and MLOps/LLMOps practices, with hands-on experience in Python, AWS, Databricks, Kafka, and TypeScript.
- • Strong product and business acumen, with the ability to identify high-leverage AI/ML opportunities, translate them into measurable roadmaps, and build cross-functional alignment to deliver scalable impact.
- • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop talent, including guiding career growth, improving stakeholder communication, and redirecting team members with empathy and clarity.
- • Commitment to pragmatic, action-oriented delivery—defaulting to shipping working solutions quickly and iterating based on feedback, while maintaining high standards for safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
