- • As the first dedicated Product Analyst at Help Scout, you will serve as the critical bridge between product and data, turning user behavior into actionable insights that shape the future of our customer service platform.
- • You will partner daily with product managers, designers, and engineers to define analytical questions, own Mixpanel instrumentation and analysis, build product analytics in Hex, design and interpret experiments, and translate data findings into clear product narratives that drive roadmap decisions.
- • Help Scout is a fully remote, people-first company serving over 10,000 relationship-driven businesses with a culture rooted in craft, empathy, and continuous progress — where your work will directly influence product strategy and be visible to executive leadership.
- • In this role, you will define the function of product analytics from the ground up, leverage a newly built BigQuery-based data lake to focus on insights rather than infrastructure, and grow your impact through ownership, storytelling, and data-informed advocacy for better customer experiences.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–5 years in a product analyst, product data scientist, or product-focused analytics role at a SaaS company
- • Strong SQL proficiency for writing complex queries against event tables, dimensional models, and time-series data
- • Hands-on Mixpanel experience including instrumentation design, event taxonomy, funnels, retention, and cohort analysis
- • Real experience designing and analyzing experiments with understanding of significance, power, MDE, and A/B testing pitfalls
- • Strong product instincts to distinguish interesting insights from roadmap-changing findings
- • Excellent written and verbal communication to translate data into compelling product narratives
- • Self-direction and ability to define priorities in collaboration with product managers without a predefined backlog
