• • As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Duck Creek Technologies, you will be instrumental in ensuring the unwavering reliability, seamless scalability, and peak performance of our global software infrastructure. This is a pivotal individual contributor role, deeply focused on inward-facing responsibilities, where your direct contributions will be crucial in maintaining and enhancing the stability and operational efficiency of our sophisticated systems.
• • You will assume full ownership of the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of our software systems' stability and reliability. Your primary objective will be to guarantee minimal downtime and achieve maximum availability for our critical services, directly impacting our customers' experience and our business operations.
• • Proactively monitor the health and performance of our systems, meticulously diagnose emerging issues, and implement robust, effective solutions to prevent their recurrence, thereby fostering a culture of proactive problem-solving.
• • Engage in close collaboration with our diverse engineering teams to meticulously optimize the performance and efficiency of our underlying infrastructure. This involves identifying performance bottlenecks, conducting thorough capacity planning exercises, and implementing strategic optimizations to enhance system scalability and responsiveness, ensuring we can meet growing demands.
• • Lead and orchestrate incident response efforts during critical system outages or performance degradations. You will work synergistically with cross-functional teams to swiftly restore service, minimize business impact, and conduct comprehensive post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement lasting preventive measures.
• • Develop, implement, and maintain sophisticated automation scripts, tools, and workflows designed to streamline complex operational processes and significantly reduce the need for manual intervention. Champion and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to automate deployment, configuration management, and resource provisioning, driving efficiency and consistency.
• • Act as a key advocate and champion for the adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices throughout the organization. Implement advanced monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to proactively detect, diagnose, and respond to potential system issues before they impact users.
• • Create, maintain, and update comprehensive documentation, detailed runbooks, and essential knowledge base articles. This includes capturing intricate system configurations, outlining standard operating procedures, and providing clear troubleshooting guidelines to empower the wider team.
• • Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions and cross-training initiatives to enhance team members' understanding of our systems and improve overall system resilience and operational expertise.
