We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic, globally distributed team based in Brazil.
• In this critical role, you will be instrumental in embedding security into every stage of our software development lifecycle. You will champion a security-first mindset, working collaboratively with engineering and operations teams to build, maintain, and enhance our secure infrastructure and automated security processes. Your expertise will directly contribute to safeguarding Deel's platform, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of our data, and supporting our rapid growth and expansion.
• As a DevSecOps Engineer at Deel, your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of activities focused on integrating security seamlessly into our development and operational workflows. You will be tasked with developing and maintaining robust automated security tools and processes. This includes implementing solutions for vulnerability detection, performing static and dynamic code analysis, continuously monitoring systems for security threats, and orchestrating comprehensive security testing throughout the CI/CD pipeline. Your efforts will involve integrating best-in-class security scanners, SAST/DAST tools, and vulnerability assessment platforms to proactively identify and mitigate risks before they impact our production environment.
• You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing secure cloud infrastructure, network architecture, and deployment strategies. This involves close collaboration with our infrastructure and operations teams to ensure that all cloud environments adhere to stringent security standards. Key aspects of this responsibility include establishing and enforcing proper access controls, implementing robust encryption mechanisms for data at rest and in transit, and deploying comprehensive monitoring solutions to detect and alert on suspicious activities. Your work will directly contribute to the resilience and security posture of Deel's global operations.
• A significant part of your role will involve establishing and maintaining continuous security monitoring capabilities. You will implement and fine-tune advanced security monitoring tools and processes designed to proactively identify, analyze, and respond to security events and anomalies in real-time. This includes sophisticated log analysis, the deployment and management of intrusion detection systems (IDS), and the continuous monitoring of system health and security configurations to ensure the integrity of our infrastructure.
• Fostering a strong culture of collaboration and communication between development, operations, and security teams is paramount. You will act as a key liaison, ensuring that security requirements are clearly understood, effectively communicated, and seamlessly integrated into the development lifecycle. Your ability to translate complex security concepts into actionable insights for engineering teams will be crucial in promoting a shared responsibility for security across the organization.
• You will also contribute to ensuring Deel's adherence to relevant compliance regulations and industry standards. This involves assisting in compliance assessments, preparing for audits, and collaborating with internal and external auditors. Your role will include providing necessary documentation and evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of our security controls, thereby reinforcing our commitment to regulatory adherence and data protection.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Security, SecOps, or DevSecOps roles, with a proven track record of implementing and managing security solutions.
• Hands-on experience with policy-as-code and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security scanning tools (e.g., Checkov, tfsec, Terrascan) for identifying and remediating infrastructure misconfigurations.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, Python) and experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with security principles, standards, and best practices, including OWASP Top 10, secure coding, encryption, authentication, access control, and security testing methodologies.
