• • As a fully remote role, we are seeking talented individuals who can thrive in a distributed environment, with a preference for applicants based in LATAM. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and availability of one of the fastest-growing companies in the world, operating in a demanding 24/7 environment. Your expertise will be crucial in monitoring and supporting our staging and production environments, developing robust tooling, and enhancing our CI/CD pipelines.
• • The Core Infrastructure Platform is the backbone of Kraken's operations, supporting a highly resilient, low-latency, distributed exchange. You will own and operate this critical platform, ensuring its stability and performance across both on-premise and cloud environments. This involves not just maintaining existing systems but also actively designing, building, and deploying new infrastructure solutions that scale with our rapid growth.
• • A significant part of your role will involve participating in an on-call rotation, a critical component of our commitment to 24/7 uptime. This ensures that our mission-critical systems remain operational and that any incidents are addressed swiftly and effectively. You will be a key player in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex issues that arise in a high-stakes trading environment.
• • To empower our development teams and enhance overall efficiency, you will design, build, and maintain advanced infrastructure tooling, sophisticated CI/CD pipelines, and self-service platforms. This focus on automation and developer velocity is central to our engineering philosophy, enabling our teams to innovate and deploy faster and more reliably.
• • You will lead critical migrations across our cloud and on-premise infrastructure, driving the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, particularly with Terraform. This ensures that our infrastructure is not only robust and scalable but also auditable, repeatable, and manageable.
• • Managing container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and Nomad will be a core responsibility. You will oversee service deployments, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and resilient, and that our containerized applications are running optimally.
• • Implementing and enforcing infrastructure security best practices is paramount. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and compliance of our systems, safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining the trust of our global user base.
• • You will operate and optimize a suite of distributed systems, including Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, and MariaDB. This includes troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and reliability issues, often in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, to maintain the high-performance standards expected of a leading crypto exchange.
• • Furthermore, you will manage and optimize our ingress infrastructure, such as proxies and CDNs, ensuring seamless and secure access to our services for users worldwide. Your ability to diagnose and resolve complex networking and performance issues will be vital.
• • This role demands a strong understanding of Linux systems, deep networking fundamentals, and advanced debugging capabilities. You will leverage these skills to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues before they impact our users.
• • Experience in implementing secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows is essential. You will contribute to refining our development and deployment processes, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and aligned with industry best practices.
