- • As a Senior Software Engineer at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, you will design, build, and operate scalable services that power intelligent, AI-driven experiences, directly enabling the company’s mission to deliver innovative healthcare technology solutions.
- • Day to day, you will formulate system scope and objectives, develop and modify application systems to optimize performance, design and test code, respond to production issues, and serve as a technical expert guiding development teams through all phases of implementation.
- • You will join a forward-thinking engineering team at BCBST focused on modernizing enterprise systems through secure, API-driven architectures and AI integration, working in a collaborative environment that values code quality, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, containerization, CI/CD, and performance tuning while leading small to mid-sized technical efforts and influencing the evolution of AI-powered healthcare platforms.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience designing and building RESTful APIs
- • Proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js, React) and SQL, including experience developing and supporting application services
- • Experience integrating AI platforms with enterprise systems using secure, API-driven architectures
- • Familiarity with containerization technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment practices
- • Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex, distributed systems and respond to production issues
- • Experience monitoring, tuning, and improving application performance and availability
- • Collaboration skills to translate functional and non-functional requirements into production-ready solutions
- • Commitment to code quality, documentation, and knowledge sharing, with ability to lead small to mid-sized technical efforts
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- • 5 years of systems and programming experience
- • Expert working knowledge of at least one programming language in use at BCBST
- • Proven analysis, design, and coding skills with demonstrated success in leading large and complex projects
- • Ability to interpret and translate technical concepts into meaningful information for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- • Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks with exceptional work ethic
- • Leadership skills and effective communication with both technical and non-technical coworkers
