📋 Description

• • As a Sr Software Engineer (Distributed Systems) on Workday's Data Warehouse Core team, you will build and enhance Workday's data cloud features, focusing on distributed ingestion, transaction, and query processing engines at massive scale.
• • Day to day, you will architect and develop algorithms for fast, efficient transactions and queries over tens of billions of rows in a multi-tenanted cloud environment, working with storage management, table DML/DDL, data types, query languages, materialized views, and batch job orchestration.
• • You will join Workday's Data Platform Engineering organization, a Fortune 500 company and leading AI platform for managing people, money, and agents, where the team is building the next-generation secure, at-scale data platform to enable AI-native applications and agents.
• • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, database internals, and data processing frameworks while contributing to infrastructure that shapes how customers access, move, and analyze their data, with opportunities to work with Scala, Java, Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Apache Iceberg, and Trino.
