Sr Software Engineer I - Android

📋 Description

• • Lead the design, development, and delivery of AXS’s flagship Android application, used by millions of fans to discover, purchase, and manage tickets for concerts, sports, and theater events worldwide. Your code will directly influence how users interact with the biggest names in entertainment.
• • Architect clean, scalable, and testable Kotlin code that powers core flows such as event discovery, interactive seat maps, secure checkout, mobile ticketing, and real-time venue entry. You’ll own entire features end-to-end, from technical design through Play Store release.
• • Collaborate daily with cross-functional squads that include product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and QA. You’ll translate Figma prototypes into pixel-perfect, accessible UIs while ensuring seamless integration with GraphQL and RESTful services.
• • Champion Android best practices across the organization: establish coding standards, drive adoption of Jetpack libraries (Compose, Navigation, Room, WorkManager), and maintain a modular Gradle build system that supports continuous integration and rapid feature delivery.
• • Optimize app performance and stability for a global user base. You’ll profile cold-start times, memory usage, and network efficiency, then implement caching strategies, lazy loading, and background sync to keep the experience snappy even on spotty stadium Wi-Fi.
• • Instrument robust analytics and crash-reporting (Firebase, Datadog) to monitor user journeys and proactively fix issues before they impact fans on event night. You’ll run A/B tests to validate new features and iterate based on data-driven insights.
• • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pair programming, architecture reviews, and career development plans. Your leadership will grow the team’s technical depth and foster a culture of inclusion, curiosity, and continuous learning.
• • Shape the mobile roadmap by evaluating new technologies—such as foldable support, Wear OS integrations, and on-device ML for personalized recommendations—and presenting proof-of-concepts that keep AXS at the forefront of live-event innovation.
• • Ensure rock-solid security and privacy for every transaction. You’ll implement OAuth2, certificate pinning, and encrypted local storage to protect user credentials and payment data, meeting PCI-DSS and SOC 2 compliance standards.
• • Participate in an on-call rotation with a blameless post-mortem culture. When millions of fans are counting on you during a sold-out arena show, you’ll diagnose and resolve production incidents swiftly while documenting lessons learned.
• • Contribute to AXS’s open-source initiatives and tech-blog posts, sharing your expertise in Android development with the broader engineering community and reinforcing our reputation as an industry thought leader.
