- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of Quizlet’s Android applications that serve 60 million learners worldwide, shipping features that are used by two-thirds of U.S. high school students and half of college students every week.
- • Partner with product managers, designers, ML engineers, backend and web teams to translate ambitious product visions into robust, scalable mobile code that delights users and advances our mission of helping every learner achieve their outcomes.
- • Design, build, and maintain high-quality Android software that applies current industry best practices, ensuring the codebase is clean, testable, and ready for rapid iteration while setting the foundation for long-term growth.
- • Deeply understand existing mobile architecture and proactively suggest improvements—whether that’s refactoring legacy flows, adopting new libraries, or championing modern patterns like Server-Driven UI (SDUI)—to keep Quizlet at the cutting edge of mobile learning experiences.
- • Drive incident investigations, post-mortems, and retrospectives; turn every outage or bug into a learning opportunity and effectively advocate for long-term improvements to systems, processes, and team culture.
- • Influence within your team and across adjacent engineering groups to raise the bar on code quality, automated testing, observability, and CI/CD practices, ensuring we ship with confidence and recover quickly when things go wrong.
- • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to define requirements, break down complex problems, and deliver solutions that balance immediate customer needs with strategic technical investments.
- • Work onsite in our London office a minimum of three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) to foster tight collaboration, rapid feedback loops, and a strong sense of shared ownership among teammates.
- • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning by mentoring junior engineers, sharing knowledge through tech talks and design reviews, and staying curious about emerging Android technologies and cognitive-science-driven learning techniques.
- • Champion accessibility, performance, and internationalization best practices so that Quizlet’s mobile experience is fast, inclusive, and delightful for learners across diverse geographies, devices, and abilities.
- • Leverage our cutting-edge recommendation systems and generative AI capabilities to build adaptive study modes, personalized home navigation, and rich content features that make studying more effective and enjoyable.
- • Instrument features with analytics and observability hooks to measure impact, iterate based on data, and ensure the mobile experience remains reliable as we scale to over 1 billion learning interactions per week.
