- • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React Native for Kraken Pro, Kraken’s flagship trading platform for professional users
- • Set the standard for high-quality code and lead the development of complex software systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and fault tolerance
- • Significantly influence technical decisions, contribute to technical strategy discussions, and shape product and domain decisions using expert knowledge of engineering best practices
- • Mentor both junior and senior engineers through code reviews, feedback, and guidance to elevate team-wide engineering standards
- • Master and apply multiple technologies, staying ahead of emerging tools and trends in mobile and web development
- • Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and resilient systems with deep understanding of software architecture and design patterns
- • Lead and collaborate on cross-functional initiatives to deliver high-impact features for professional crypto traders
- • Drive process improvements in software development workflows and lead by example with advanced proficiency in agile and iterative development practices
- • Apply strong UI/UX best practices to ensure intuitive, responsive, and high-performance trading interfaces tailored to experienced users
- • Work with APIs, WebSockets, and real-time data streams to deliver low-latency trading experiences
- • Utilize frontend testing frameworks to ensure reliability and stability of mobile applications across platforms
- • Engage with modern front-end build pipelines and tooling to optimize development efficiency and deployment workflows
- • Maintain and enhance applications with familiarity in native mobile development (Objective-C, Kotlin, Java) for iOS and Android integrations
- • Contribute to a culture of shipping fast but never shipping garbage, prioritizing quality and user impact over speed alone
- • Operate in a fully remote, global team environment with high autonomy and accountability for delivering mission-critical crypto trading products
- • Familiarize yourself with Kraken Pro, Kraken Desktop, and Kraken Wallet to deeply understand the user context and product ecosystem
- • Participate in ongoing crypto education and security practices to align development with Kraken’s industry-leading standards
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of experience in software development with a focus on web and mobile applications
- • Deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and proficiency with React Native frameworks
- • Strong experience with API design, security, and performance optimization
- • Experience with Next.js and WebSockets
- • Experience with frontend testing frameworks
- • Familiarity with native mobile app development (Objective-C/Kotlin/Java) for iOS and Android
