This is a unique opportunity to work with a senior group of engineers, collaborating closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Networking, and Security teams to deliver a stable, scalable, and secure platform for all Kraken workloads.
- • Your primary focus will be on modernizing our datacenter stack and leading the buildout of the next-generation compute platform that underpins all our on-premises infrastructure. This Staff-level role demands deep technical ownership, significant architectural influence, and hands-on responsibility for critical systems.
- • You will be instrumental in designing and architecting Kraken's OpenStack-based compute platform, ensuring its robustness and scalability for a rapidly growing global user base.
- • Lead the end-to-end deployment, configuration, and scaling of OpenStack across multiple datacenters, managing complex, distributed environments.
- • Take ownership of the management, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of Kraken's OpenStack environments, including the evolution of lifecycle workflows to ensure efficiency and reliability.

- • Participate actively in an on-call rotation, ensuring the continuous reliability and availability of our core infrastructure platform, a critical component for Kraken's operations.
- • This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on a company at the forefront of the crypto industry, working with cutting-edge technologies and a passionate, globally distributed team.
- • You will be at the heart of Kraken's technological backbone, ensuring that our infrastructure is not only reliable and secure but also capable of supporting the ambitious growth and innovation that defines our company.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of distributed systems, a passion for automation, and a proven ability to tackle complex infrastructure challenges in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
- • We are looking for an individual who can not only execute but also innovate, driving improvements and setting new standards for our core infrastructure.
- • This is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to be a key architect of the technology that powers one of the world's most prominent cryptocurrency exchanges, contributing directly to our mission of accelerating crypto adoption worldwide.
- • You will be empowered to make critical decisions, influence technical direction, and leave a lasting mark on Kraken's infrastructure landscape.
- • Embrace the challenge of operating at scale, ensuring that our systems can handle the demands of millions of users and a constantly evolving market.
- • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement, staying ahead of industry trends and best practices in cloud and datacenter technologies.
- • Your work will directly impact the performance, security, and reliability of Kraken's services, making you an indispensable part of our success story.
- • We value collaboration, transparency, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, fostering an environment where your contributions are recognized and valued.
- • Become a Krakenite and help us build the future of crypto, one robust infrastructure component at a time.
