- • Supervise complex first- and third-party auto and commercial injury claims, including litigation files ranging from minor to high-complexity cases, across multiple states in a remote environment.
- • Evaluate coverage questions and provide binding decisions on liability and settlement authority for claims exceeding adjuster limits, ensuring alignment with policy terms and state Department of Insurance regulations.
- • Direct, monitor, and evaluate the workflow, performance, and file quality of a team of claims adjusters, ensuring consistent application of company procedures and regulatory compliance.
- • Manage phone queues and oversee daily operations of a 7-day-per-week claims unit, including multi-shift coordination to maintain service levels and response times.
- • Serve as subject matter expert on commercial casualty claims, providing technical guidance to adjusters on coverage interpretation, liability determinations, and proactive file resolution strategies.
- • Act as claims liaison for commercial customers, brokers, and partner insurance clubs to build and maintain strategic relationships and ensure seamless service delivery.
- • Conduct and lead Committee Review Process meetings for specialty claims, arrange departmental meetings, and ensure efficient operational execution.
- • Produce and analyze Quality Assurance Reports (QARs) to identify trends, gaps in performance, and opportunities for process improvement.
- • Lead catastrophe response efforts across multiple states, coordinating resources and adjusting workflows to meet surge demands during high-impact events.
- • Administer performance appraisals, recommend salary actions including promotions and terminations, and conduct disciplinary and corrective actions in collaboration with HR.
- • Identify training needs for team members, coordinate relevant development programs, and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to drive professional growth and superior customer relations.
- • Recognize and reward employee achievements through structured recognition programs to foster engagement and retention.
- • Participate in budgetary planning and accountability for the business unit, overseeing utilization of internal and external resources to control costs and meet financial targets.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments on strategic initiatives, sharing expertise and supporting company-wide projects.
- • Conduct trend and competitive analysis with managers to identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process enhancements.
- • Ensure compliance with Department of Insurance regulations, corporate client expectations, and customer complaint resolution protocols across all jurisdictions where claims are processed.
- • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new claims adjusters and supervisors, contributing to workforce planning and team expansion.
- • Maintain current licensing in all applicable states or obtain necessary adjuster licenses within 90 days of hire as a condition of employment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of supervisory experience in casualty or bodily injury claims within an insurance environment
- • Technical experience handling claims relevant to the adjuster roles supervised
- • High School diploma/GED or 3+ years of customer service experience in a virtual environment using internet, phone, and chat systems
- • Must hold an active adjuster license in all applicable states or obtain one within 90 days of hire
