  • • Own the quarterly income-tax provision end-to-end: pull trial-balance data from Oracle, build book-to-tax adjustments, calculate current and deferred balances, and draft concise footnote disclosures that satisfy both ASC 740 and management-reporting needs.
  • • Partner with the US Tax Director to prepare federal and multi-state income-tax returns (1120, 1120-F, and 40+ state and local returns). You will gather apportionment data, validate state modifications, and review workpapers prepared by our Big-4 co-source team to ensure 100 % accuracy before filing.
  • • Model cash-tax forecasts that feed directly into treasury and FP&A planning. Translate complex tax scenarios into clear dashboards that show the P&L and cash-flow impact of new legislation, business initiatives, and audit settlements.
  • • Drive the timely remittance of quarterly estimated payments and extensions—over $20 M annually—by orchestrating cross-functional inputs from legal, treasury, and accounting. Own the calendar, flag risks early, and never miss a deadline.
  • • Serve as the primary contact for federal and state tax audits and notices. Draft responses, compile support files, and coordinate with external counsel to reduce proposed adjustments and protect First Advantage’s effective tax rate.
  • • Build and maintain a centralized tax-data warehouse in OneSource and Excel. Automate recurring calculations (e.g., state NOL schedules, fixed-asset roll-forwards) to cut prep time by 30 % and free capacity for value-added analysis.
  • • Continuously improve internal controls and SOX documentation around tax processes. Recommend policy updates that strengthen governance while keeping the close cycle lean.
  • • Collaborate with HR, Legal, and M&A teams on ad-hoc projects—ranging from stock-based-compensation analyses to diligence on potential acquisitions—delivering tax insights that shape strategic decisions.
  • • Mentor junior staff and cross-train colleagues in accounting on basic tax concepts, raising the overall tax IQ of the organization.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; active CPA license or CPA-track preferred
  • • 3–4 years of corporate income-tax experience in a large corporate tax department or Big-4/public accounting firm
  • • Demonstrated ASC 740 quarterly-provision experience (1–2 years minimum)
  • • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas) and comfort with ERP systems; Oracle and OneSource Tax Provision experience a strong plus
