  • • Join Abnormal Security Corporation as a Sr. Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Analyst, a pivotal individual contributor role within our dynamic Accounting team. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Accounting, you will be instrumental in shaping and supporting the company's technical accounting and financial reporting functions as we experience significant growth and mature our internal processes.
  • • This high-impact position is centered on rigorous technical accounting research, meticulous documentation, and the clear articulation of accounting positions. You will be tasked with evaluating complex accounting issues, developing authoritative accounting conclusions under U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and crafting well-structured technical accounting memos that substantiate these conclusions.
  • • As Abnormal Security Corporation continues its rapid expansion, you will play a key role in developing and documenting comprehensive technical accounting policies, refining existing processes, and establishing robust documentation standards. These efforts are crucial for ensuring scalable and compliant financial reporting as the company matures.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders across various departments, including Finance, Legal, and Operations, as well as with our external auditors. Your expertise will ensure that complex transactions are thoroughly researched, accurately documented, and fully supported, maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting.
  • • You will be responsible for conducting in-depth technical accounting research on a wide array of accounting topics. This includes staying abreast of new accounting pronouncements and industry guidance, analyzing their potential impact on the company, and preparing detailed memos that outline accounting treatments and conclusions.
  • • Evaluate the accounting implications of complex, unusual, or non-routine transactions. This requires a keen analytical mind to identify potential accounting challenges and recommend appropriate, compliant accounting treatments that align with U.S. GAAP.
  • • Actively support the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards issued by the FASB. This involves researching the requirements, documenting the company's accounting conclusions, and partnering cross-functionally to ensure timely and accurate adoption across all relevant systems and processes.
  • • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors regarding technical accounting matters. You will prepare supporting documentation, respond to inquiries, and ensure that our accounting positions are well-documented, clearly communicated, and defensible during audit reviews.
  • • Collaborate with the broader Accounting team to develop, maintain, and update the company's accounting policies and technical accounting documentation. This ensures the consistent and accurate application of U.S. GAAP across all financial reporting activities.
  • • Assist in the preparation of the company's financial statements and related disclosures, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP requirements. This includes contributing to the accuracy and completeness of SEC filings as the company evolves.
  • • Provide critical support during the period-end close process and financial statement reviews, with a particular focus on areas that require significant technical accounting judgment and analysis.
  • • Foster strong working relationships with teams across Finance, Legal, and Operations. Your collaboration will be essential in assessing the accounting implications of new business initiatives, contracts, and strategic partnerships.
  • • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of scalable accounting documentation and processes. This proactive approach is vital for supporting the company's continued growth and evolving reporting needs.
  • • Undertake and support various ad-hoc technical accounting and financial reporting projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to tackle new challenges.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to make a substantial impact on the financial integrity and reporting capabilities of a rapidly growing, innovative technology company.
