- • As a Staff Accountant at Notion Labs, Inc., you will play a critical role in building and maintaining scalable financial processes that support the company’s rapid growth and commitment to financial integrity. You will help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in alignment with US GAAP, directly contributing to the reliability of Notion’s financial statements and audit readiness.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include owning key components of the month-end close process, such as preparing and reviewing journal entries, performing account reconciliations (cash, accounts payable, fixed assets, allocations, and expenses), and developing supporting schedules. You will design and implement scalable accounting policies and internal controls, contribute to financial audit preparations by responding to auditor inquiries, conduct monthly variance analysis to interpret financial trends in business context, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements, including automation opportunities. You will also work closely with the Accounting Manager on ad hoc projects and general corporate accounting matters.

- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in technical accounting under US GAAP, gain hands-on experience with modern accounting systems (including NetSuite, Zip, and Ramp), and develop skills in process design, automation, and cross-functional collaboration. You will have the opportunity to influence the evolution of Notion’s financial infrastructure and grow into a trusted advisor within the finance organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification is a plus but not required
- • 2+ years of accounting experience in technology companies (public or private)
- • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including practical application and ability to research and communicate technical accounting issues
- • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, efficient, and controlled accounting processes
- • Proficiency with accounting software such as NetSuite, Zip, Ramp, or similar platforms
- • High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills
- • Self-starter mindset with ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
