  • • Join Twilio Inc., a leader in shaping the future of communications, as a Staff Accountant on our US General Ledger Accounting team, based remotely in Mexico City.
  • • At Twilio, we are committed to a remote-first work environment, fostering a strong culture of connection, global inclusion, and diverse experiences that make a significant impact daily. We empower millions of developers and serve hundreds of thousands of businesses with innovative communication solutions.
  • • This is a dynamic and growth-oriented position, offering the opportunity to be a key contributor to our financial operations and gain valuable experience in a high-growth tech company.
  • • You will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial results, working closely with cross-functional teams including Greater Accounting, Payroll, Benefits, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
  • • The role reports to the Manager, Accounting, based in California, and offers a clear path for professional development and recognition for your contributions.
  • • A core responsibility will be to maintain a deep and thorough understanding of the General Ledger (G/L) structure, all associated processes, and the various transactions that feed into it, ensuring data integrity from source to reporting.
  • • You will actively participate in the month-end close process, which includes the meticulous preparation of journal entries, comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, execution of SOX controls, and the accurate preparation of financial statement disclosures.
  • • This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to special projects, focusing on process improvement initiatives and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
  • • You will play a role in streamlining and refining accounting policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date, effective, and aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • • A key area of focus will be the maintenance and review of prepaid expense accounts for US entities within the general ledger. This involves diligently monitoring amortization schedules and partnering with Accounts Payable and Procurement teams to confirm correct dates and coding for all prepaid expenses.
  • • You will partner closely with the Benefits team to effectively manage accounts related to employee benefit programs. This includes accurately recording monthly benefit expenses and reconciling general ledger balances with reports from benefits vendors.
  • • The preparation and review of payroll and related tax journal entries and account reconciliations will be a critical function, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all payroll-related activity recorded in the general ledger.
  • • You will prepare and review the allocation of payroll-related customer support costs to various business units, including cost of sales. This requires ensuring consistency with company policy and close collaboration with FP&A on key input data.
  • • Responsibilities within this role are dynamic and may evolve and expand over time, driven by the evolving needs of the general ledger team and the broader organization, offering continuous learning and development opportunities.
  • • Twilio values diverse experiences and encourages all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of their career path. We are always seeking individuals who bring unique perspectives and skills to our team.
  • • This position is fully remote and based in Mexico City, offering flexibility and work-life balance.
  • • Occasional travel may be required for project or team in-person meetings to foster stronger relationships and collaboration.
