📋 Description

• Architect and own the full lifecycle of advanced ML and generative-AI systems that directly touch millions of patients and providers. You will design, build, deploy, and continuously improve conversational AI, personalization engines, user-understanding models, and clinical-decision-support tools that sit at the heart of Curai’s virtual clinic.
• Translate ambiguous clinical and product needs into rigorous, data-driven AI solutions. You will frame problems, scope datasets, define success metrics, and run A/B experiments that validate real-world impact on health outcomes, cost, and access.
• Drive technical strategy for AI across the company. You will evaluate cutting-edge research—from large language models to novel evaluation frameworks—and decide what to adopt, adapt, or discard so that Curai stays ahead of the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
• Lead end-to-end delivery: wrangle messy, high-stakes healthcare data; prototype models; productionize at scale with robust CI/CD, monitoring, and automated retraining; and iterate quickly while maintaining HIPAA-grade privacy and clinical-grade reliability.
• Collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary squad of physicians, researchers, product managers, designers, and fellow engineers. You will translate clinical nuance into model features and explain model behavior in language that non-technical stakeholders trust.
• Mentor interns and junior ML engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and career coaching. You will champion best practices in experiment design, reproducibility, and ethical AI, cultivating a culture where learning and innovation accelerate.
• Champion responsible AI. You will implement fairness, transparency, and safety checks so that every model we ship earns the confidence of patients, providers, and regulators.
• Influence company-level priorities. By quantifying the ROI of AI initiatives and surfacing user insights, you will help decide where we invest next—from new diagnostic workflows to global expansion.
• Contribute to Curai’s research brand. You will co-author papers, file patents, and speak at conferences, sharing breakthroughs that advance both our mission and the broader healthcare-AI community.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of industry experience shipping robust ML/AI models in production, ideally for user-facing or data-intensive products.
• Demonstrated ownership of the full ML lifecycle: data analysis, feature engineering, model development, offline evaluation, online experimentation, deployment, and continuous monitoring.
• Hands-on experience building systems powered by large language models (fine-tuning, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, alignment, and safety).
• Expert-level Python fluency and production-grade software engineering practices (testing, code review, containerization, CI/CD).
• Track record of working with complex, real-world datasets; experience with healthcare data (EHR, claims, clinical notes) is a strong plus.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent practical experience—combined with exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
