Staff AI Engineer

📋 Description

• • As a Staff AI Engineer at Fieldguide, you will shape the technical direction of the company's intelligence layer by defining architecture, standards, and roadmap for building reliable AI agents in enterprise audit and advisory workflows.
• • You will drive impact across the engineering organization by setting architectural direction for agentic systems, identifying and resolving systemic gaps, making high-leverage technical bets, and establishing evaluation standards, observability infrastructure, and reliability frameworks at scale.
• • You will own complex, cross-cutting product areas end-to-end, design agent orchestration and retrieval systems for enterprise-grade complexity, lead the evolution of LLM infrastructure (models, prompts, guardrails, feedback loops), and prototype, validate, and harden novel approaches before sharing with the broader team.
• • You will partner with Engineering leadership, Product, and Design to shape the AI roadmap, create reusable platforms and tooling that multiply team velocity, identify and develop the next generation of senior engineers, and translate long-term product vision into concrete technical strategies while staying at the frontier of LLM and agent research.
