- • As a Staff AI Engineer at Hippocratic AI, you will set the technical direction for voice-based generative AI in healthcare, architecting intelligent systems that power clinically safe healthcare agents at the intersection of large language models, real-time voice, and human-centered design.
- • You will architect and own production-grade AI pipelines for voice-based generative healthcare agents, including RAG, multi-step reasoning, agent orchestration, and evaluation systems, making foundational design decisions that other teams build upon.
- • You will lead cross-functional initiatives with product, clinical, and engineering teams to translate healthcare workflows into safe, scalable, and human-centered AI experiences, while representing engineering in high-stakes clinical and partner conversations.
- • You will drive zero-to-one initiatives using state-of-the-art LLMs, retrieval systems, and streaming architectures, setting standards for AI-native workflows that support real-time, conversational, and long-running interactions across diverse healthcare contexts, and own the safety and evaluation bar across model evaluation, safety testing, and observability.
- • You will mentor senior and mid-level engineers, raise the quality bar through code and design reviews, and multiply team impact by establishing best practices in AI system development.
- • You will work in a mission-driven environment focused on reinventing healthcare with safety-first AI, collaborating with physicians, hospital leaders, AI pioneers, and researchers from top institutions including Stanford, Johns Hopkins, and NVIDIA, backed by $404M in funding and a $3.5B valuation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of professional experience in software, ML, or AI engineering
- • Proven track record building and shipping AI- or ML-powered products in production environments
- • Strong programming skills in Python with experience in distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines
- • Deep understanding of prompt engineering, vector databases, and retrieval systems (RAG), voice agents or willingness to learn rapidly
- • Experience with cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern DevOps practices (Terraform, CI/CD, monitoring)
- • Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to move fast in high-impact domains
