📋 Description

• As a Staff Android Engineer on Reddit’s Brand Ad Formats team, you will lead the technical strategy to transform Reddit’s Video Ads into a premier offering for brand advertisers, driving innovation in high-visibility, awareness-driven ad formats that create memorable user experiences.
• You will partner with Product and Design to build and execute a roadmap for Video Ads and reddit-unique ad formats, providing technical leadership across the full development lifecycle—from prototyping and experimentation to deployment and scaling to millions of users.
• The Brand Ad Formats team builds fully customizable interactive formats and AI-driven ads incorporating User-Generated Content (UGC), with a strategic focus on Video Ads to position Reddit as an industry leader and ‘must buy’ for advertisers.
• You will mentor senior engineers, establish Android best practices, lead design reviews, and advocate for customer-centric solutions while raising the bar for technical excellence, operational rigor, and innovation across teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience at Staff level seniority
• Android Mastery: Minimum 3+ years of deep expertise in Kotlin and modern Android architectural patterns, with 4+ Android development projects completed from ideation to production deployment
• Prior experience in Ad Tech building highly interactive/rich-media mobile experiences, with a proven track record of delivering user-facing features where UI polish and performance are critical
• Strong system design skills for complex, data-intensive environments, including fault-tolerant client-side systems, experimentation fluency (BigQuery, HEX, Firebase), and experience leveraging GenAI tools to boost engineering productivity
• BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
