- • Design, implement, and maintain application security controls across Bazaarvoice’s global platform to protect user-generated content and enterprise customer data.
- • Conduct security reviews of new features, APIs, and third-party integrations to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities prior to deployment.
- • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security best practices into the software development lifecycle, including code reviews, threat modeling, and secure architecture design.
- • Evaluate and deploy security tools such as SAST, DAST, IAST, and dependency scanners to automate vulnerability detection across microservices and cloud-native environments.
- • Respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities, leading root cause analysis, remediation planning, and post-mortem documentation in alignment with incident response protocols.
- • Stay current with emerging threats, OWASP Top 10, and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) to ensure Bazaarvoice’s security posture remains robust and compliant.
- • Provide security guidance and training to developers and product teams to foster a culture of security ownership and secure coding practices.
- • Work closely with compliance and legal teams to support audits, certifications, and regulatory requirements including GDPR, CCPA, and SOC 2.
- • Monitor and analyze security telemetry from production systems to detect anomalous behavior and proactively address potential exploits.
- • Partner with infrastructure and DevOps teams to secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and containerized applications using least-privilege access controls and network segmentation.
- • Document security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and scalability across global engineering teams.
- • Represent Bazaarvoice’s security program in customer-facing security assessments and questionnaires, ensuring transparency and trust with enterprise clients.
- • Participate in red team exercises and penetration tests, providing actionable feedback to improve system resilience.
- • Advocate for security automation and tooling improvements that reduce manual toil and increase engineering velocity without compromising safety.
- • Maintain awareness of Bazaarvoice’s global network of retail, social, and search syndication partners to ensure security controls extend to data flows across third-party ecosystems.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience in application security engineering
- • Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and securing microservices architectures
- • Hands-on expertise with SAST, DAST, and dependency scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Snyk, Burp Suite)
- • Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices, and web application vulnerabilities
- • Experience working in agile environments and collaborating directly with software engineering teams
- • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and SOC 2
