📋 Description

• As a Staff AppSec Engineer at Upside Services, Inc., you will play a critical role in securing the company’s application ecosystem by identifying and remediating vulnerabilities end-to-end, directly supporting the mission to transform brick-and-mortar commerce through secure, scalable technology.
• Day to day, you will leverage AI tools to design security solutions, execute automated security testing (SAST, SCA), develop threat models, advise leadership on security architecture, build developer security literacy through training, participate in penetration testing and bug bounty programs, and contribute to AWS Control Tower and IAM workflows.
• You will join a mission-driven team at Upside, a company powering billions in commerce annually by connecting consumers with brick-and-mortar businesses through innovative cashback and profit-generating technology, reporting to the Director of Information Security and collaborating closely with engineering and product teams.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in application security, AI-augmented security workflows, and cloud-native AWS environments while shaping the evolution of Upside’s AppSec program and influencing secure development practices across the organization.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years in application security or product security with hands-on experience reviewing Python code
• Deep expertise in AWS security architecture, including Lambda and AWS Control Tower
• Demonstrated experience adopting and integrating AI tools into security or engineering workflows
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills — comfortable working with both engineers and leadership
