• As a Staff Backend Engineer within our Technology Center of Excellence, you will assume a pivotal technical leadership role. Your primary responsibilities will include spearheading the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated software solutions aimed at eradicating identity fraud. This involves close collaboration with diverse, cross-functional teams, providing mentorship to junior engineers, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure products. • In this capacity, you will provide indispensable technical leadership by architecting and implementing intricate core components and robust distributed systems. A significant aspect of your role will involve designing solutions that prioritize scalability, security, modularity, and long-term maintainability, ensuring our systems can grow and adapt to future demands. You will be instrumental in conducting thorough code and architecture reviews, meticulously verifying adherence to Socure’s stringent standards and established industry best practices, thereby upholding the integrity and quality of our codebase.
• Furthermore, you will take ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of large, complex initiatives, from initial planning and execution through to successful delivery. This includes coordinating the efforts of a small, focused team of engineers, adeptly managing scope, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure project success. Your contribution to team dynamics and professional development will be substantial, offering expert technical guidance, actively supporting system design endeavors, and cultivating a pervasive culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning and improvement across the team.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 8–12 years of professional software engineering experience
• Proven experience leading complex, large-scale engineering projects
• Expert-level programming skills and mastery of software engineering principles
• Strong experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems
• Ability to develop complex systems while guiding architectural decisions for a team
• Deep understanding of system design, performance optimization, and reliability
